It was an honor to update the iconic logo and signage in celebration of their 50th anniversary. McCoy’s has long been the go-to for all things hunting, fishing, and outdoor apparel — not to mention the legendary Joe, master of running shoes — since I moved to Mobile 17 years ago.
When the new owners, Carter Thomas and Robin Hollon, reached out to freshen things up for this milestone year, I was thrilled to help them refresh such a beloved local legend. We added a beautiful wood duck to the logo — a nod to their sporting heritage — and the new signage is being installed today. Stay tuned for the big reveal!
And at the end, a few flashback memories: my father-in-law gifted me my first pair of hunting boots at our rehearsal dinner — purchased, of course, from McCoy’s.

Magnolia & Pine owner Hope Holt opened the store after realizing she had a love for both interior design and Lake Martin. After Holt and her husband moved to Lake Martin from Montgomery five years ago, Holt finally decided to take on a new endeavor and open her own store to share her love for home decor and gifts with her new community.”
