Wrapped up an inspiring day of discovery!🎉

Our undergraduate students presented their incredible work at this year’s Undergraduate Research Symposium! We are so proud of our students for showcasing their groundbreaking research! It was a great opportunity to connect and celebrate research.

Our Chemical Hydrogeology students toured Mississippi State Chemical Laboratory (MSCL) at MSU, and learned all about cutting-edge analytical instruments, career paths in the field, and how MSCL is working to protect Mississippians by tracking both past and emerging environmental contaminants!

2025 SEVERE STORM SYMPOSIUM 🌪️⛈️⚡️!

This past weekend, our students had a great time hearing from faculty, alumni, and professionals! With a variety of topics covered, they were able to network and learn more about weather enterprises!

Led by Dr. Ryan Walker and Jake Reed, our students from GR Weather and Climate had the opportunity to engage in a virtual reality lab! The students received hands on experience by exploring more about our planet’s weather and climate in a VR stimulation setting! 🌎🎧

HUGE NEWS for Mississippi State Broadcasting! 🎉 Out of 2,285 entries from 300+ schools, The Department of Geosciences received awards in TWO categories at the Broadcast Education Association of Festival of Media Arts!Congratulations to our students, faculty, and staff! 👏

Sydney Goldberg received 1ST PLACE in the Graduate News competition and our Take 30 Newscast staff received an award of Excellence!

Right now the American Meteorological Society is hosting their Annual Meeting in New Orleans! This years theme is “Towards a Thriving Planet: Charting Course across Scales” The meetings will continue until 1/16!
