• This week concludes the Fall 2023 semester! We had the awards ceremony, congratulating all cadets for their hard work and accomplishments this semester!
• Our change of command ceremony was a success and in addition, we wanted to show our appreciation to Maj Davies for all that he contributed the last 4 years at Detachment 425! Maj Davies, we are so sad to see you go on but we are so grateful for the support you provided and the impact you made on every single cadet during your time here👏

• This week at PT, cadets took the official PFA
• For LLAB, cadets went to Camp Seminole competing in each CETF (25th & 42nd) for AEF to put all the expeditionary skills they learned at previous LLABs! After AEF, our Spring 2024 Cadet Wing Commander was announced. Congratulations to C/Col Russell🥳

• This week’s shoutout goes to the 425th Educational Support Squadron! They are responsible for supporting the academic and professional development of the 425th Cadet Wing. They offer tutoring, academic sessions, and training events. This squadron also manages an academic mentorship program, monitors the health and wellness of cadets, and provides a flight simulator program for those interested in aviation careers.

— WEEK 12 RECAP —
• This week at Tuesday PT, cadets participated in Halloween PT👻🎃 Including fun competitive games (dodgeball, basketball, and soccer). Thursday, cadets competed in respective flight competitions! Sierra flight took on the victory🎉
• This week at LLAB, cadets went through their last CETF (42nd & 25th) rotations in preparation for our official AEF at Camp Seminole. Also our AS100, AS200, and POC of the month were announced!

Huge shoutout to C/Lt Col Andrews!
• He plays a pivotal role in providing cadets the support they need to maintain their wellness in the face of the demands of school, ROTC and life in general. He continuously evaluates how the cadet wing is doing in all aspects (mentally, physically, emotionally, etc.)
• A few of his major responsibilities are to facilitate a program where he assigns wingmen you can call at any time during the weekend in case of any assistance cadets may need! In order to make sure that everyone knows what to do in the event that a cadet encounters a difficult situation, he coordinates with the Title IX office to teach the cadets about sexual misconduct and civil rights issues. In order to help individuals learn how to take care of themselves and maintain their health and happiness, he also teaches a variety of wellness topics through the Wellness Wednesday program.
• C/Lt Col Andrews is recognized for all the tireless effort he has put in all semester as our wellness officer. He has been a great influence, role model and wingman. Thank you for your dedication!

• This week’s shoutout goes to the 425th Communications Squadron! They are responsible for managing and enhancing communication within Detachment 425. They set schedules for social media posts, produce the monthly cadet newsletter, and develop a strategic social media plan to expand the detachment’s digital presence. Additionally, they organize and manage recruiting events and coordinate visits for prospective cadets, ensuring a positive image of AFROTC at Mississippi State University.

— WEEK 11 RECAP —
• This week at PT, cadets circled up into their respective flights and worked on calisthenics on Tuesday and resumed training in ability groups on Thursday.
• LLAB #11 allowed GMC to participate in a learning environment to be equipped with the skills necessary to succeed at AEF. Each CETF squadron split further into Fire Teams to get some practice at each station, which consisted of ECP/BDOC, TCCC, Small Unit Tactics, IED/UXO & Land Navigation.

• This week’s shoutout goes to the 425th Force Support Squadron! They are in charge of planning and executing morale and retention events for the cadet wing. A few of the big events they are responsible for planning include Combat Dining In, formal events, such as Dining Out, career fairs and award ceremonies.

• This week at Tuesday PT, cadets continued to work in their respective strength ability groups.
Thursday PT, cadets did a run at North Farm. Following the run, cadets circled up with their flights to do calisthenics.
• For LLAB #10, GMC were briefed on Cadet Expeditionary Training Force (CETF) for AEF and assigned to 25th & 42nd squadrons. After the briefing, cadets engaged in a GLP and FDEs.

• This week’s squadron shoutout goes to the Operational Support Squadron! They are essentially in charge of creating quality LLAB training plans and OPORDS for the semester, ensuring that cadets meet all required objectives.
• The POC in this squadron handle several different aspects that make the training effective. For example, develop and implement warrior knowledge training, drill & ceremonies, evaluation protocols, safety procedures and the planning and ex*****on of the Air Expeditionary Force event.
