Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter passed away yesterday at his home in Plains, Georgia.
President Jimmy Carter was the only President to have served as a Scoutmaster (so far). Prior to his political career Jimmy Carter was a Troop Committee Chairman, Scoutmaster and Explorer Post Advisor. First Lady Roselyn Carter once served as a Den Mother and their three sons all served as Scoutmasters. After Carter's appeal for energy conservation programs, the BSA held a Scouting Environment Day in 1977. In 1978, the Boy Scouts of America awarded him the Silver Buffalo Award for service to youth on a national level.

See you on the trail sir.

From our Scout family to yours,
Merry Christmas!

For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6

Throughout the weekend, they engaged in a wide range of activities, including volunteering at the woodburning station setting up teepees, running the trading post, participating in shooting sports, holding an interfaith worship service and a lot more, ultimately making for a fun-filled and memorable weekend!
