The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Board of Directors on June 10 approved EM training program requirements that allow for continued 3- and 4-year residencies.

EMRA President Polly Wiltz, DO, praised the ACGME’s actions in seeking and considering stakeholder feedback. "We are encouraged by this outcome and are proud of the role our members played in this process,” Dr. Wiltz added. “It is a powerful reminder that advocacy matters, and that when residents come together with a shared purpose, they can help influence the future of our specialty."
