🤠 Verne’s gone full Texas.

Our favorite traveler was recently spotted at Rodeo Goat in Dallas… and we have a feeling he didn’t leave hungry. 🍔👀

From conferences and trainings to unexpected local stops, Verne keeps showing up where conversations around pleural effusion management are happening.

At this point, the question isn’t where’s Verne? It’s where will he turn up next? 📍

🔍 See him out in the wild? Snap a photo, tag us, and keep the adventure going.

What if managing pleural disease meant less management? 🫁

“Providing our patients with a solution that improves their quality of life and lessens the burden of maintaining an implanted medical device for their chronic medical condition has the potential to really change the way we manage pleural disease.” — Jason Akulian, MD

When innovation reduces burden for patients, caregivers, and care teams alike, it has the potential to change more than outcomes. It can improve the experience of living with chronic disease.

From innovation to impact all the way from Firenze, Italy. 🩺 🫁

Jeff Thiboutot, MD took the stage at the IPOG Fourth Annual Minimally Invasive Lung Cancer and Pleural Disease Diagnostics and Treatment Conference to share the ACES® device with a global audience of interventional pulmonologists, researchers, and innovators focused on advancing pleural disease diagnostics and treatment.

As conversations centered around the future of pulmonary care, it was exciting to showcase a fully implantable approach that challenges the status quo of pleural effusion management.

Thank you to everyone who attended, asked questions, and helped make IPOG such a memorable event.

What happens when pleural effusion management is reimagined? 🫁

A newly published case report in The Annals of Thoracic Surgery: Internalized Continuous Pleuroperitoneal Shunt Placement During Medical Thoracoscopy for Refractory Pleural Effusion highlights the fully implantable ACES® device in a 48-year-old patient with recurrent pleural effusion and complex comorbidities.

Follow-up at 30 and 90 days demonstrated significant pleural effusion reduction and improvement in dyspnea.

Designed to support continuous fluid movement without external drainage systems, the ACES device offers a fully implantable approach aimed at reducing patient burden and eliminating the need for ongoing at-home drainage and management.

The publication also includes a surgical technique video showcasing implantation during medical thoracoscopy for your viewing: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2772993126001749

A new approach. A fully implantable solution. A different future for pleural effusion management. Helping give patients the freedom to breathe life in.
