Here is an up-cycled project from the 2024 bridal season.
We took Jessica's Mother's wedding gown and made it into a new robe that she wore while getting ready. We also created a new purse for her to have all day long.

Our bride had three separate services done for her big day!
The first was alterations on her wedding gown. Then a custom cathedral overskirt was created for her ceremony. Finally, her reception dress was beautifully up-cycled from her mother’s wedding gown.
All three looks turned out wonderful! We had such an amazing time working on these pieces.

Company Overview
Beauty by Design is owned and operated by local designer and tailor Deborah Block. Deborah has been custom creating one of a kind wedding gowns and unique women's formal wear for well over fifteen years. In addition to custom clothing she is also very skilled at alterations and re-purposing garments. Re-purposing clothing is known as up-cycling which is a topic Deborah is very passionate about.
Deborah’s enthusiasm for creating beautiful pieces of clothing is reflected through her quality and craftsmanship. Women feel great when their clothing fits their body properly and Deborah enjoys providing this experience, especially for their special day!
After almost seven years of being an independent contractor, in 2017 Deborah decided she wanted her own studio so she leased a space and created Beauty by Design. Her beautiful studio is located in a warehouse converted artist building located just outside the Northloop Minneapolis.
