A windows open kinda weekend ☀️
Accordion windows are some of our favorite multi-purpose design solutions. They function as a connection between inside and out, occupying less space than an open door, and creating a source for natural ventilation and sunlight.

May was an exciting month in our studio! 🎉 We celebrated the graduation of our Architectural Intern, Keely Ashton, from the University of Minnesota's Master's of Architecture program, and are thrilled to announce that she will be joining us full-time in June as an Architectural Associate. We also welcomed Lexi Adkins to the team as our summer Interior Design Intern! We're already feeling lucky to have her new perspective in the studio.

What's now a well-loved watering hole for both Duluth locals and out-of-towners was once the Enger & Olson furniture warehouse. If you look closely, you can still see the original sign painted onto the brick exterior of the building. We were honored to help Bent Paddle Brewing Co. repurpose the space and give it new life. Stop in this summer for a beer and check see the historical charm of the space for yourself 🍻

Where the lake meets the leaves 🍃 At the Lakeside Retreat, the show-stopping screen porch offers more than just waterfront views. Careful siting kept much of the existing tree cover intact, and allowed us to embrace the surrounding canopy as an integral part of the design.
The screen porch now offers a sense of quiet immersion in nature, tucked into the treetops amongst the ever-changing leaves. Gorgeously filtered light and soft breezes have become the natural backdrop for this family to relax and connect.
