This week, Workplace Teammates Scott Hierlinger, Michelle Sirivong, and Jon Hanson attended the Finance & Commerce Award ceremony, where they celebrated our project with Castlelake and its recognition as a 2023 Top Project! The most successful and engaging kids have a very literal customer journey - animated and storybook like. These imaginative environments can lead a child to discover new interests.

We worked with Build-A-Bear to develop an experience strategy and store based on consumer research. The goal was to create an environment that would be relevant and engaging for all consumers. After fielding a multi-dimensional research program with kids and moms, we scripted a consumer journey based on the unique retail-entertainment shopping experience of the brand “where best friends are made.”

Increasingly, sports teams are activating the space surrounding their stadiums to create not only the ultimate game-day experience, but year-round destinations and the NBA is no exception.

Clubs such as the Denver Nuggets, L.A. Clippers, Orlando Magic, and Oklahoma City Thunder are either building or on the cusp of building their own city squares adjacent to their current, new or impending arenas.

The South Dakota Men’s Level V Facility in Lincoln County is making strides, marking a major leap in correctional infrastructure. Covering 741,000 square feet with a $615 million budget, this facility will accommodate 1,584 inmates across seven housing buildings.

NELSON’s design team worked closely with stakeholders to address critical issues like overcrowding, security, and staff wellness. The facility includes specialized areas, such as intake, medical services, and administration, designed to enhance operational efficiency and inmate rehabilitation. Each one-story building will feature ample daylight and views of the surrounding landscape, promoting well-being and functionality.

Earlier this year, Comcast Spectacor shared its vision for the redevelopment of the South Philadelphia Sports Complex, master planned by NELSON Worldwide, including new facilities for the Phillies and Flyers.
