Don’t forget to give a gift today! You’ll support Vision Loss Resources programs AND be eligible for a giveaway of fabulous Helen Keller-themed prizes. https://www.facebook.com/donate/800473813988383/

Helen Keller was born on this date in 1880. She became a noted artist, activist, and author. Helen attended Radcliffe College, and was the first deafblind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree. Her talks at The Woman’s Club in 1914 and 1915 inspired the creation of what today is Vision Loss Resources.

Today is the last day for our fundraiser for Vision Loss Resources. Donations can be made at https://www.facebook.com/donate/800473813988383/.

”Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.” – Helen Keller

Thanks to people like you, Vision Loss Resources had a lot to be proud of in 2020. Read all about it in the 2020 annual report! https://bit.ly/2020rpt

Helen Keller's birthday is coming up on Sunday. To celebrate, our friends at The Woman's Club of Minneapolis are holding a fundraiser for Vision Loss Resources! If you donate to their Facebook fundraiser, you're not only supporting life-changing services from Vision Loss Resources; you're also eligible to win a copy of Helen Keller's autobiography, and the brand-new Helen Keller Barbie doll! (National Federation of the Blind worked with Mattel to ensure the doll's authenticity.)

Donate today for a chance to win: https://www.facebook.com/donate/800473813988383/

Thank you to everyone who has donated to our fundraiser for Vision Loss Resources. We have already raised $695!

The National Federation of the Blind worked with Mattel on creating the new Helen Keller Barbie doll – part of their “Inspiring Women Series.” When creating this campaign, we checked with our partners at Vision Loss Resources to get their thoughts about doing a drawing for one lucky donor to receive the Helen Keller doll as a thank you.

Given that Helen Keller spoke at The Woman’s Club in 1914 and 1915, our friends at Vision Loss Resources said, “It’s a pretty irresistible tie-in to the history of The Woman’s Club.”

Did you know that Helen Keller inspired the founding what is now Vision Loss Resources? Back in 1914, The Woman's Club of Minneapolis invited Keller to give a speech, and the public was invited. Some of the people in the audience were so inspired that they founded what is now Vision Loss Resources. Thank you, Woman's Club members, for celebrating our long shared history!

In 1914, members of The Woman’s Club of Minneapolis invited Helen Keller to give a speech. The public was invited to attend, and her speech inspired a few people in the audience to found the organization that is now Vision Loss Resources.

Vision Loss Resources is the leading Twin Cities resource for training and social/emotional support for people with vision loss. This community approach allows each person using their services to adapt, connect, and thrive. This also leads to greater independence for caregivers and families.

In recognition of The Woman’s Club’s 107-year history with Vision Loss Resources, we are raising funds for our valued community partner. 100% of the funds raised through this campaign will be donated to Vision Loss Resources. Everyone who donates between now and June 27th will have an opportunity to win a copy of Helen Keller’s autobiography, “The Story of My Life,” and the new Helen Keller Barbie doll, part of Mattel’s “Inspiring Women Series.” (The National Federation of the Blind worked with Mattel on the design of the doll to ensure authenticity.)

To donate through Facebook, go to: https://www.facebook.com/donate/800473813988383/ or contact Kevin at The Woman’s Club to make a donation through your member account.
