It's Golden Ticket Time! Together, saving lives is what we do! Pictured are the lucky kids who arrived nearly two weeks ago into Safe Hands, thanks to the kind humans named under each photo. That could be you!

So many more really deserving kids hope to be on the transport this weekend! To board the van on Friday, they need a Golden Ticket and a Foster Home. There are so, so, so many waiting for their chance to board the van. Please help if you can. We have been recruiting for foster homes all week and we still need more, but now it's time to focus on Golden Tickets for them.

Each Golden Ticket helps cover the cost of transportation from Kentucky to Minnesota, vet exams, vaccinations, and health certificates. In return, we send you a photo of the homeless pet you sponsored, and a Golden Ticket certificate, proving that you are amazing! We also let everybody know here on Facebook, and on our website. The new kids need Golden Tickets and foster homes every transport throughout the year. That means every other week, sometimes more often!

We're looking for our next Foster Coordinator — and it could be you. 🐾

At Safe Hands Rescue, our Foster Coordinators are the ones who make sure every animal arriving from Kentucky has a foster home ready and waiting. It's remote, it's flexible, and it's incredibly meaningful work.

Here's how it works: For your assigned transports (once every other month), you'll send out foster recruitment emails, match animals to approved foster homes, share care information, coordinate any special needs, and keep our roster updated. In the week before and after each transport, you're the main point of contact for our foster community.

We're looking for someone who is:
✔ Super organized and detail-oriented
✔ An excellent communicator — warm, professional, and responsive
✔ Comfortable with email, Mailchimp, and Google Docs (or eager to learn)
✔ Steady under pressure when last-minute changes come up
✔ Passionate about animal welfare

⏱ About 5–8 hours per month. That's it.

This is a shared role — you'll be part of a team of coordinators, so there's always support around you.

I know asking people for money can feel uncomfortable. But here's what I know — when someone who genuinely cares shares that passion with the people in their life, it inspires others to help. Your voice is a powerful force for the animals.

Meet Corrine. We found her on the brink in an overcrowded shelter — half the size of her littermates, severely emaciated and very weak. She needed fluids, syringe feeding, medicine, and a safe place to rest. She got all of that at our Safe House. Today, Corrine is doing great.

**********FOSTER HOMES NEEDED**********

Our Safe House took in 30 dogs and puppies from a severely overcrowded shelter this week. Many of them were living in crates in the hallway. All of them are sweet, happy kids so deserving of their second chance. With six bottle babies on top of an already full house, they need to get on the van Friday headed for Minneapolis. But they need temporary foster homes to make that happen.

In celebration of 🐶National Rescue Dog Day on May 20 Tim Sparks organized a supply drive at his place of work! Big shout out to Tim and Market Performance Group!

Tim chose Safe Hands Rescue because he adopted Deeyogee (formerly Abby) from us last year. Tim raved about how perfect Deeyogee is. She is SUPER social, loves meeting new people and other dogs, very goofy, and sweet as can be. They’re smitten with this beautiful gal.🩵

Their goal was to focus on the less glamorous—but absolutely essential—items like laundry detergent, paper towels, and other everyday supplies that help us care for animals in need. These necessities may not be the first things people think to donate, but they make a huge impact!

And when we mentioned we were out of tennis balls, he made that happen too! We received so many wonderful supplies and are incredibly grateful for their thoughtfulness and support!
