Have you taken the Comprehensive Aging Survey yet? Your responses will help inform services and supports for older adults. Your voice is important!

For more information or to take the survey, visit: https://mn.gov/dhs/aging-survey
Important update: our organization will be moving forward under our original name, Metropolitan Area Agency on Aging (MAAA).
While our name is changing, our work is not. We remain dedicated to serving older adults and caregivers across the region through our strong community partnerships, services, funding and programs.
As we navigate this transition, our priority is to continue helping people thrive as we age by maintaining and strengthening the network of services older adults and caregivers rely on each day.
Stay tuned for more updates in the coming weeks. In the meantime, check out our updated website: www.metroaging.org

Kick off the week with some interesting reading: New research published by the Gerontological Society of America shows taking part in musical activities improves thinking and mental well-being in healthy older adults.
Participants in the study who took part in music therapy sessions saw increases in cognitive function and decreases in depressive symptoms.
This research could help make the case for more music therapy programs as a way to reduce the risk of cognitive decline and dementia.
