Community acupuncture on a sliding fee scale is now available three days a week at Stockheart Whole Health and we couldn't be more excited! This offering improves accessibility and affordability of this incredible medicine. Curious? Check out our blog for more details below.
The best part? It's on a sliding fee scale from $25-$60 for established patients ($35-$70 for your first visit) and you decide what you can pay. Bring some ear buds, maybe a sweater, and get ready for a little snooze while you rest with your needles!
Afraid of needles? Many people have that concern, but oftentimes once they have their first experience, that fear melts away into relaxation. We can start with just one needle OR if you book a private session, we can use different techniques to activate the acupuncture points.
If you're interested in booking, the link is in the comments below! Come on in and give it a try. We can't wait to help you feel better.

Stockheart's New Digs! — Stockheart Stockheart has a brand new home, complete with expanded care for you and the people you care about!

If you have been around Stockheart at all, you have met or felt the influence of Dr. Michele. Her warm smile welcomes you in, and her deep wisdom helps ease your path, wherever you might be in your journey.
Michele Renee, DC, MAc is entering her 26th year of practice as a family doctor who treats the whole person, and the whole family, from the first day of life to the last.
She is a healer first and foremost, offering gentle chiropractic adjustments through the experienced hands of a long-time massage therapist and body worker.
With an additional deep pool of knowledge about nutrition and healing from the inside out, she approaches each client individually from the Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective. She also applies principles of functional medicine to find the root cause of the issue, and not just manage symptoms.
Dr. Renee brings a clarity to healing in her understanding that no two people are alike, and no two approaches to healing should be alike either. This involves listening deeply and being fully present to hear the whole story and find a path forward.
She provides a safe place for exploring the possibilities for healing, drawing from her unique collection of skills to find the individualized approach to care that’s just right for you.
Dr. Michele's practice is small at the moment as she navigates some ongoing health challenges but you can schedule with her on our website at

Happy Earth Day 2024!
Remember that everything you do has an impact on our world, no matter how small.
Today is a great day to choose a small action that reverberates through our community. Today, Dr. Brenna became a member at her local co-op to better support our local farmers and increase access to local and sustainably produced food.
What small action can you do today?

Here's the latest on some research on an emerging super nutrient, quercetin! It has tons of benefits, and it is one of the most promising nutrients for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19. Thanks, Dr. Thompson, for putting this piece together for us.
Quercetin and COVID-19 Recovery — Stockheart by Dr. Stephen Thompson DC DACM BCTMB Since the pandemic, COVID-19 has redefined how we look at treating common health complications from the viral infection. We wanted to share a Breathwork and Writing Workshop hosted by our friends at Constellation Acupuncuture and Healing Arts this coming Tuesday:
In this gathering, participants will be using their breath to open up their connection to their intuition and inner creativity and then spend dedicated time in their own personal writing practices to process what came up for them.
Come to the group with a topic you’d like to explore, question you’d like to dive into, or mess you’re hoping to untangle – OR, show up with nothing but an open heart and curious mind and use one of Amy’s writing prompts to guide your writing time.
This 90-minute event will be split into four parts: time to ground into our present truth and set intentions for our time together, time to lay down and breathe, time after the breathing to process what came up for us in our own personal writing practices, and lastly time to share, witness, and ask questions.
No previous breathwork experience necessary. Wear comfy and warm clothes, bring a yoga mat, plus an extra blanket or whatever makes you feel the most cozy and supported. Masking is optional; however taking a rapid test before arriving is requested – and also, Amy has done breathwork with a surgical mask on and reports it was fairly comfortable!

Maintaining your health is about nourishing the body from the outside and the inside. Spring is a great time to reacquaint the body with seasonal foods such as arugula, carrots, and strawberries. Incorporate nutrient-rich foods at your own pace, whether a salad with lettuce and tomatoes like our friend at the Farmacy or adding a new ingredient into your often-cooked meals. Let us know your favorite spring foods in the comments!

Thinking-Cap Thursday: Foods that Boost Immunity 🧠 💡
A healthy immune system supports our ability to enjoy the wonderful things Spring has in store for us. Many vitamins and nutrients contribute to a healthy immune system. We’ve chosen to focus on Vitamin D, Vitamin C, and gut bacteria.
We usually associate Vitamin D with sun exposure, Vitamin C with citrus foods, and gut bacteria with yogurt. We wanted to share some lesser-known foods, herbs, and spices that provide these key nutrients. Click the link in our bio to learn more!

We’re excited to introduce new services as our team continues to grow and learn! This week, we wanted to highlight Dr. Brenna’s speciality: Directional Non-Force Technique (DNFT):
Directional Non-Force Technique, like other forms of chiropractic care, addresses pain and discomfort caused by misalignments, or dislocations, of joints and organs. This realignment allows the body to heal itself.
Directional Non-Force Technique chiropractors use their thumbs to apply light pressure to 20 points across the spine and rib cage. Each application of pressure is an adjustment, and each adjustment impacts bones, muscles, and joints throughout the body. After each adjustment, the chiropractor will check the left and right legs to see if they remain relaxed, or if they contract. Relaxed legs let your chiropractor know that the point does not need an adjustment. Contracted legs let your chiropractor know that the bones, muscles and joints in that area need to be realigned.
Directional Non-Force Technique is a gentle, or low impact, method of chiropractic care. DNFT is gentle enough for babies, the eldery, and post surgical patients. Patients will wear a gown with their lower legs and feet visible for their chiropractor to check during their appointment.
Click the link in our bio to learn more and book with Dr. Brenna, today!

We are so thankful for our Stockheart family! The trust you have in our team to care for your body, mind, and everything in-between means a lot to us. We wanted to share a testimonial from a client who, upon receiving care, was able to climb the Himalayan Mountains:
"The iliac muscle is a very uncomfortable muscle to pull, and if you don't know what's happened or why it hurts so much. You just end up walking bent over, and taking stairs with pain and fear. This was my condition when you (Marakah) visited. You diagnosed what was probably going on from my walk, and then gave me a massage.
It was a long, detailed massage. The first part of it was the diagnosis, in which you figured out the root of the pain, and explained what the illiac muscle was (never heard of it before), its function in the musculo-skeletal system, and why having stressed it could cause the kind of discomfort and pain I was going through. This understanding was key, I think, because once I understood what was going on, it felt like my body heard you too, and started working with you.
And then, you massaged the pain away, all the while explaining to me what my body was going through as you opened the muscle out. It was really amazing. I have never experienced a massage like that. It started with pain, and ended with my walking comfortably. The next day, we left for the Himalayas. I took my time walking around in the mountains, but there was no pain.
That was 2019. The pain never came back, not once-- and I've been to the mountains several times after that. I am immensely, incredibly, grateful."

Mindfulness Monday: Grounding Exercises 🌻
Spring is coming! The promise of new opportunities and a fresh outlook on life comes with the tendency to leave the present moment. Our social lives get busier, we take on new projects, the weather is nicer, and all of a sudden we’re overwhelmed and have lost our breath 😮💨
Grounding exercises reduce stress, stay present, and experience a sense of stability. Grounding exercises help us to redirect thoughts away from distressing feelings, and, deepen our connection with the Earth’s energy 🌍
We encourage you to try each grounding technique to see if it improves your connection to your body, mind, and everything in-between. If a specific practice does not resonate with you, that’s ok! Watch out for next week’s offering, and keep an open mind on how it could impact your life. 🫶🏽
