Here's a pre-table picture of a monkfish - the entrée we served last weekend. The tail of this oceanic monstosity tastes like sweet lobster meat. Yum!

Had a wonderful evening preparing a birthday dinner for nine last night. Here's the menu:
Whole roasted pumpkin stuffed w/ roasted vegetable and mushroom stew
Pear and dried blueberry chop salad w/ pistachios and blue cheese
Sautéed monk fish medallions over sweet potato puree w/ port reduction
Homemade apple pie
Red velvet cupcakes w/ cream cheese & mascarpone frosting
Out in San Diego for some culinary "research"!
