I needed a new cabinet for my 50 year old sewing machine. Sew, (get it! 🙄) I found one online for free! I modified it to fit my machine, and here she is! Ready for another 50 years!

What can one do with a 1930’s china cabinet but give it a makeover! With a sleek blue-black finish that adds a modern twist, intricate gold peacocks and vines bring a touch of elegance and whimsy.

The exterior has been painted in Vagabond, and the interior in Mink Brown.

But that’s not all! With the addition of LED tape lighting, this beauty shines brighter than ever, showcasing vintage treasures in style.

And she's available now! Check out the link in my bio or message me for more details.

Transforming the classic! Check out this stunning mahogany buffet that’s undergone a fabulous makeover. The sleek black paint gives it a modern edge, while the refinished wood drawers and door fronts bring out the beautiful grain and warmth of the mahogany. Perfect for adding a touch of elegance to any space!

This buffet/media console started out life as the bottom of a breakfront from back in the 50's. After removing the top (check back later to see what I've done with that), I also replaced the old clunky legs with something a little more modern.

The cabinet was painted in Tricorn Black. The drawers and doorfronts were refinished to bring out the luster of the mahogany. Inside the cabinet and drawers were refreshed. Original hardware was cleaned and touched up with my favorite gold paint by Rust-Oleum.

Media console, dining room buffet, bedroom storage, or entry table are just a few of the ways this cabinet can be used. What do you see using this gorgeous buffet for?

Marcia brought me this adorable library table that belonged to her grandmother, and asked that I transform it to suit her decor. And what a transformation!

I stripped the top and found what appeared to be black gouges in the top (chainsaw? fish cleaning? who knows...). I tried steaming the black stains out but no luck. So Marcia chose a dark stain called To***co by , and a custom blend for the creamy white base. Antiquing was easy with Break-A-Way glaze in Van D**e Brown. The entire table was then finished with several coats of matte polyurethane.

Thanks, Marcia, this was a lot of fun! I'm so glad that you love it!

Oh my! I never thought that I would paint anything white, but... This little Ladies Desk was crying out for a touch of elegance! So I painted her a soft white and gave the original hardware a good cleaning and a spritz of gold paint. Naturally, the legs had to be painted gold, and la plus belle touche' is the gold applique on the door!

Scroll to the right to see the before shot, and whereas the first photo is pure fantasy, the last is reality! I'll be keeping this one for myself!

Daughter Laura brought this to me for refinishing. It had been handed down to her through her father's family. Her instructions were to make it look elegant and dramatic - mission accomplished!

The top drawers and the base of the frame were just woodgrain-printed paper. I was able to save the base of the frame and, using toners in a couple of different colors, make it look real. The drawer fronts were covered with new veneer, and the drawers were cleaned and waxed.
The top of the dresser was scraped, sanded, and finished in a hard wax oil, for a soft glow.
