I was hoping to never have to make this post. Life has a way about it that continues to surprise and challenge us all. When faced with these challenges, the best we can do is grit our teeth and face them head-on.

As it happens with countless other bands, life has pulled each of Tusk’s members in a different direction. Balancing more time with family, moving on to other projects, moving out of state, getting married… it’s all happening at once for us.

With that, we have a few announcements.

This upcoming show on August ninth will be our final live performance. It may be a Wednesday, but GET THERE!

We will be releasing our first full length record digitally in the near future.

Tusk as we know it is done. Tusk in the future will possibly morph into a remote collaboration.

I want to thank everyone who has rocked with us through the years. We’ve poured our entire hearts into playing music for the twin cities, and our souls into this album. It’s been too long in the making, and will reach you all soon. Until then, we say a bittersweet goodbye, and thank you all.

LOCAL METAL BAND SEEKS BASSIST! - musicians We are local metal band Tusk, and we are looking for a bassist. Our awesome guitarist and co-founder Matt recently moved to the coast, so now ex-bassist Ben has stepped in as our new guitarist. We...

Friends, it was a fantastic 2022 for us, but as we’re settling into the new year, we have some sad news. Matt McOlash, one half of our fantastic guitar duo, will no longer be playing with Tusk. We’re all devastated to see him go, but life has pulled him in a different direction, and he’s made the tough decision to follow that path.
He and Ryan started this band in 2020, and their riffs are what sat as the core of Tusk for the past two and a half years. It’s going to be hard to go on without him, as well as his tasty leads and clarion voice, but we wish him nothing but the absolute best.
Going forward, our bassist, Ben, will be taking up the guitar in his stead, which means we’ll also be looking for a new player to join us in the low end. We obviously have some rehabilitation in order, so we’ll be doing work at our rehearsal space for a bit, but we’ll be back soon to melt your faces to the ground! But for now, Matt, here’s to all the great times over the last 2.5 years. We love ya man. 🤘
