At Park Construction, we believe in recognizing the hard work and dedication of our team members. That's why we recently held our annual end-of-the-year party to celebrate the incredible achievements we've made together as a company.

Our team enjoyed a fun evening at Whirly Ball in Maple Grove, filled with laughter, camaraderie, and friendly competition. Our staff members tackled an escape room together, using the teamwork they learned across many construction projects. We also hosted a prize raffle for our employees as a token of our appreciation for their continuous dedication and hard work. 🎟️

In addition to the festivities, we had the honor of recognizing Scott Erickson for an incredible milestone - an impressive 30 years of service at Park Construction! To commemorate this remarkable achievement, Scott will be receiving a custom-made watch as a symbol of our gratitude for his invaluable contributions to our company. ⌚️

Events like these not only allow us to unwind and enjoy each other's company but also serve as a reminder of the incredible team spirit and collective achievements that define Park Construction. Here's to another successful year ahead!

At Park Construction, we take pride in being recognized as local experts in asphalt paving. With a skilled team, cutting-edge equipment, and innovative paving techniques, we ensure precision and durability in every project. Part of what sets us apart is meticulous attention to detail, managing projects efficiently using the latest technology, and adhering closely to industry best practices to guarantee smooth and long-lasting asphalt surfaces. Clients can trust our team to consistently provide paving solutions that meet the highest standards in the industry.

At Park Construction Company, we take pride in delivering excellence on every project, whether it's a large-scale multimillion-dollar venture or a smaller-scale local endeavor. An example of one of our smaller projects is the Waldoch Addition in Columbus, Minnesota.

Our team served as the general contractor for the 137th Ave NE roadway, as well as the bypass and turn lane on the adjacent CSAH 23. Park self-performed the earthwork, utilities, and paving services. This short roadway and cul-de-sac optimize functionality and access to this local development site while the CSAH 23 bypass and turn lane improve traffic flow on the county road.

In addition to the roadway work, Park partnered with the General Contractor for the Street Smart Rentals property along this new roadway to complete the site work & paving for the new building and lot. Both projects are a testament to our ability to deliver top-notch services even on smaller projects, ensuring they receive the same attention to detail and commitment to excellence as our larger ventures.

This year's unusually mild winter has allowed our team to continue working on our new shop facility and cold storage warehouse in Blaine, Minnesota. Foundations have been placed and the precast concrete panels that will form the outer walls of the new facility have begun to be set. 🏗️

Situated on a 40-acre parcel near the Blaine airport, this new facility is set to redefine our capabilities and enhance our operational efficiency. We are excited to share more updates with you as we progress towards our anticipated project completion in June.

Last week, team members from our Paving Division seized the opportunity to gather at MAPA's 67th Annual Winter Workshop & Ice Fishing Tournament at the picturesque Grand View Lodge in Nisswa, Minnesota. 🏆

The workshop serves as an important platform for industry professionals, bringing together contractors and MnDOT representatives. It was a fantastic occasion to collaborate, exchange insights, receive updates, and strengthen our commitment to excellence in asphalt pavement. 👷‍♂️

But it wasn't all business—our team also enjoyed some fun out on the ice during the ice fishing tournament! Nothing like a bit of friendly competition to build camaraderie and celebrate our shared passion for the industry. A huge shoutout to MAPA for organizing such a great event! 🎣

Park Construction worked with the City of Oakdale and School District 622 to provide numerous upgrades to Skyview Middle School. These improvements included:

1. Enhanced Vehicle Flow: A brand-new parking lot designed for optimal traffic circulation.

2. Efficient Drop-Off Area: A revamped student drop-off zone for smoother arrivals.

3. Dedicated Bus Parking: A special parking area catering to the needs of school buses.

4. Modernized Sidewalks: Upgraded walkways for enhanced safety and accessibility.

5. Sporting Excellence: A state-of-the-art tennis court for students to hone their skills.

These improvements not only elevate the overall appearance of Skyview Middle School but also contribute to a more organized and efficient daily routine for students, staff, and parents. We are proud to have been a part of this important community project. 🏫

Our commitment to excellence doesn't hibernate when the temperatures drop; instead, we gear up for the unique challenges that the winter season brings. With cutting-edge equipment, specialized training, and a passion for what we do, we keep construction projects moving forward no matter what the weather throws at us. ❄️

Winter doesn't mean downtime at Park Construction. Our commitment to delivering exceptional results knows no seasonal boundaries. We take pride in our ability to consistently meet and exceed client expectations, regardless of the weather. Winter may bring cold winds, but it can't cool our passion for construction excellence. 🏗️

We even have a list of the 32 golf courses that we have built or updated!

Visit our new history page today:

Here's to 108 years of excellence, growth, and building a future we're proud of!

History Our expertise in highway and bridge projects also continued to grow during the 80s and 90s, as we took on projects such as the 610 Bridge over the Mississippi River, the I-94 corridor from Downtown Minneapolis to I-694, and the Baldhill Dam in Valley City, North Dakota.

We have provided professional earthwork services across the United States for over a century. We are proud to have shaped the landscape of numerous projects through our dedication to excellence and safety. 👷👷‍♀️👷‍♂️

Our commitment to quality and precision has been the cornerstone of our success, and we are grateful for the trust our clients have placed in us throughout the years. From groundbreaking beginnings to monumental achievements, we've been there every step of the way. 🏗️

We look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead, and we are eager to continue our tradition of earthwork excellence. Here's to a legacy of hard work, passion, and over a century of transforming visions into reality. 🚀

You might have heard someone say “shoo, fly!” to address a buzzing insect, but did you know that a shoo-fly is also a railway term for a railroad bypass track? Shoo-flies are constructed around a construction project to allow trains the ability to pass while the original track is obstructed or being rebuilt. 🛤️

We are currently working on 2 different shoo-fly projects for the BNSF Railway Company in the Fargo area. On these projects we are providing earthwork moving and excavating to prepare the project area for the BNSF team to install bypass railroad tracks. 🏗️

These temporary realignments are a vital component of the railroad construction and repair process. By seamlessly facilitating the movement of trains during essential upgrades, we contribute to the smooth functioning and reliability of the railway network in the Fargo area. 🚂

The County Road 32 project is one piece of the larger Fargo-Moorhead Area Diversion Project. The main goal of that project is to construct a diversion channel, approximately 30-miles in length, around the western side of Fargo for flood protection. The proposed channel travels directly through the intersection of 168th Street and County Road 32, so this intersection needed to be reconfigured to tie in further to the west, along with the creation of a new bridge.

Our Contributions:
- Topsoil Striping: 35,000 Cubic Yards
- Sand Drain Installation: 4,200 Tons
- Embankment Construction: 62,000 Cubic Yards
- Class 5 Aggregate Placement: 5,000 Tons

Our work on County Road 32 plays a vital role in fortifying the Fargo region against potential flooding. We are proud to be contributing to safeguarding communities and infrastructure in this area. 👷👷‍♀️👷‍♂️

Park Construction recently hosted the groundbreaking ceremony for our new shop facility and cold storage warehouse in Blaine, Minnesota. Our attendees included our current CEO Jeff Carlson, past CEOs Bruce Carlson and Richard Carlson, past President Duane Prairie, Dawn Reding from Alliance Bank, members of the North Metro Chamber of Commerce, and City of Blaine staff members.

Situated on a 40-acre parcel near the Blaine airport, our new facility is set to redefine our capabilities and enhance our operational efficiency. Construction is well underway for a 15,000 square feet shop facility and an 8,000 square feet cold storage warehouse. Furthermore, the site has been designed to accommodate a future 10,000 square feet office building. We are on track to complete construction by June 1, 2024, and anticipate moving into our new shop facility in the summer of 2024.

We want to extend our gratitude to everyone who joined us in celebrating this groundbreaking moment, marking a significant chapter in Park Construction's journey. Stay tuned for more updates in the new year as we progress towards the completion of our new facility.

Have you ever wondered why some highway projects require a bypass to be built first? Well, it's because it ensures a smooth flow of traffic while the main improvements take place. It also helps to keeps drivers safe in construction zones. 🚧

Currently, we're hard at work building a bypass to County Road 81 near Fargo, North Dakota. Our project work includes 45,000 cubic yards of topsoil striping, 52,000 cubic yards of embankment, and over 9000 tons of asphalt pavement. Once completed, work can begin on the full County Road 81 Improvements Project while this bypass safely navigates traffic around the construction area. 🚗

The Chaska Town Course is considered one of the best public courses in Minnesota. It has been recognized as a Top 25 Municipal Course in the USA by Golfweek and was rated as a Top 10 Golf Course in Minnesota by Golf Digest. This beautiful course sprawls over 285 acres dotted with oak groves, open prairie and picturesque wetlands. Park Construction was selected to complete a full reconstruction of the paved golf cart paths on Holes 1 through 10. ⛳

Our work included 19,000 square yards of reclaiming and 3,200 tons of asphalt. We worked with the City of Chaska to complete the project work in a short time frame, allowing the course to remain operational and minimizing any disruptions to the passionate players who cherish this beautiful course. We're proud to contribute to the continued legacy of the Chaska Town Course and look forward to seeing golfers enjoy the upgraded paths for many years to come. 🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♀️🏌️

One of our recent projects is the US Highway 2 Bridge over the BNSF Railroad in Nelson County, North Dakota. Our scope of work included earthwork, utility installations, and paving services specifically tailored for the bridge approaches and embankments. 🌉

Our dedicated crew moved nearly 300,000 cubic yards of earthwork, ensuring precise grading and foundation preparation for the bridge structure. They installed 2300 linear feet of storm sewer and drainage pipe, over 33,000 tons of aggregate, and nearly 9000 tons of concrete. 👷👷‍♀️👷‍♂️

We worked closely with the BNSF railroad on this project to ensure safe and efficient construction activities. Our project work was meticulously planned to avoid disruptions to railway operations, showcasing our dedication to project timelines and a smooth construction process. 🛤️

Our collaborative approach, attention to detail, and commitment to quality have resulted in a project that exceeds expectations. The US Highway 2 Bridge will be open to traffic early next year.

Park Construction is a proud partner of the Fargo-Moorhead Area Diversion Project, a groundbreaking endeavor designed to establish enduring flood protection for the Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo metro area. Engineered to withstand a 100-year flood and provide resilience for a 500-year flood, this project acts as a formidable shield, safeguarding the homes and infrastructure of over 235,000 residents. The anticipated outcome is not only the protection of lives and properties but also the potential savings of billions in disaster recovery funds for American taxpayers.

The main goal of the project is to construct a diversion channel, approximately 30-miles in length, around the western side of Fargo. This will divert excess water from the Red River through the diversion inlet structure located south of the Fargo-Moorhead Metropolitan Area and discharge the excess water through a diversion outlet structure. This diversion outlet is one of the tasks our team is working on.

Leveraging an extensive fleet of equipment, we are committed to providing exceptional earthwork services. As we forge ahead, our collective efforts contribute to the creation of a resilient and secure future for the entire community.

We are proud to have recently completed the FedEx Warehouse Expansion and Renovation Project in Mahtomedi, Minnesota. This project included grading and asphalt paving for a 1.1 million square foot expansion of the facility parking and operations areas.

We understand the importance of minimizing disruptions to our client's operations during construction. That's why our dedicated team worked closely with FedEx to ensure that their trucking operations continued smoothly throughout the entire process. On all of our projects we are committed to delivering high-quality results while maintaining the utmost efficiency and safety.

One of our recent projects is the Horace Street Improvement Project in Horace, North Dakota, which is just a stone's throw away from Fargo. At Park Construction, we take immense pride in transforming communities through our dedicated work, and this project has been no exception.

Here's a snapshot of what we moved and installed:

• Earthwork & Grading: 12,000 cubic yards
• Class 5 Deployment: 10,000 tons
• Storm Pipe Installation: 5,600 linear feet
• Sanitary Infrastructure: 2,300 linear feet
• Concrete Paving: 12,200 cubic yards

At Park Construction, we are committed to delivering the highest quality construction services while also minimizing our environmental footprint. We're excited to introduce one of our essential tools in this journey: the FleetWatcher Construction Management Solution (CMS) by Earthwave Technologies.

FleetWatcher CMS collects data from all our construction equipment assets, providing our team with real-time insights. For instance, the Escalating Idle Alert proactively notifies managers when equipment has been idling for too long. It tracks numerous data points, including cycle times, productivity, downtimes, equipment utilization, trends, behaviors, and more.

This wealth of information equips our staff to manage everything, from a quality preventative maintenance program to equipment costs and operator performance while helping to reduce emissions and minimize our carbon footprint.

For our valued clients, this means we can offer you:

• High-quality equipment and top-notch operator performance.
• A commitment to sustainable and eco-friendly practices.
• Transparent and data-driven project management.

Thank you for being a part of our journey towards a brighter, more sustainable future. Park Construction is proud to lead the way in construction technology.

Here at Park Construction we are proud to be a MUCA member and a Platinum Sponsor of the recent Day of the Dozers™ event. This annual event provides an opportunity to educate Minnesota families about the construction industry, while at the same time raising money for a wonderful cause - Children’s Minnesota.

At the event, children were able to ride inside a wide variety of construction vehicles alongside a friendly certified machine operator, play in sandpits, participate in other fun activities, and enjoy great food from some delicious local food trucks.

Park had 3 pieces of equipment at the event, a Cat D4 Dozer, Cat 340 Excavator, and our brand new Lowboy Tractor & Trailer. We'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our dedicated staff members who generously donated their time to make this event an unforgettable experience for all who attended.

We have some amazing new drone footage to share with you of our Drayton Dam Replacement project on the Red River of the North. This 2-year project is part of the larger Fargo Moorhead Flood Protection Project and is aimed at improving biotic connectivity through construction of a rock fish passageway. The new dam, a sheet pile steel dam, will include scour repair, a new access road, 2 new concrete fish platforms, 40,000 cubic yards of excavation, 50,000 tons of riprap, and 20,000 tons of bedding. The rock-riffle design also reduces drowning risk by eliminating the dangerous "roller" currents created below traditional lowhead dams.

Park Construction was proud to be a part of the inaugural 2023 Rib Fest & Career Fair in Arden Hills, Minnesota. Our incredible team fired up the grill and served some mouthwatering ribs that left everyone craving more. But that's not all, we also had some awesome Park Construction swag for all our friends and supporters. We were also promoting job opportunities for veterans and military service members within Park Construction.

What makes this event even more special is that it's not just about fun and food – it's about giving back to the community. All proceeds from the 2023 Rib Fest & Career Fair go to support the Minnesota Building Trades Yellow Ribbon 501c3 programs. These programs make a significant impact on the lives of Minnesota servicemembers, veterans, and military families.

We're incredibly grateful to have been a part of this meaningful event, and we want to thank everyone who joined us, supported us, and helped us contribute to such a worthy cause.

At Park Construction, we believe in the power of partnerships to drive growth and success. That's why we're excited to share our journey with the Small Business Administration's Mentor/Protégé Program.

The Mentor/Protégé Program is designed to foster collaboration between established larger businesses like Park Construction and small businesses who are looking to grow. It's a win-win situation, offering invaluable support to both parties. Small business protégés can tap into the expertise of their mentors, gaining assistance in navigating complex processes like federal contract bidding, acquisition, and procurement.

Selecting the right partner for this program was crucial for us, and after careful consideration, Harvey Sand and Gravel (HS&G) emerged as the perfect fit. HS&G specializes in processing, supplying, and delivering aggregates, bedding materials, and riprap. As a certified Woman Owned Business and registered Hub-Zone business, HS&G is a shining example of dedication and excellence in the industry. Susan Shearer, HS&G's President, is a passionate advocate for small businesses and has played a vital role in supporting her local community.

Our partnership with HS&G began in 2020 when we formalized the HS&G/Park Joint Venture under the Mentor/Protégé Program. Since then, it has been a remarkable success story. Together, we have successfully bid on over $50 million worth of Small Business Set-Aside projects with the US Army Corps of Engineers, including the impressive Drayton Dam Demolition and Fish Bypass Construction project you see here.

HS&G is getting valuable assistance from Park financially, technically, organizationally, and administratively that will help their business grow and prosper for years to come. The Venture’s primary customer, the USACE, has been extremely happy with the quality and administration of the contracts completed to date.

At Park Construction, we believe in building a brighter future for small businesses, and the Mentor/Protégé Program has proven to be an exceptional avenue for achieving this vision. We look forward to continued success and growth with our partners at HS&G and to making a positive impact on our industry and communities.

Here at Park Construction, we are always improving our construction processes with the power of technology. One of the tools that we use is HCSS Plans, a digital plans management app that's changing the game in the heavy civil construction industry.

HCSS Plans is a cutting-edge solution tailored to our field needs, allowing our foremen to take charge of production and reporting like never before. No more shuffling through piles of paper plans or outdated information – with HCSS Plans, our teams always have the latest and greatest plan sets right at their fingertips. Whenever we upload new sheets in our office, they're instantly available to our field supervisors. This seamless transfer ensures that our communication between the office and field crews is smoother than ever.

Going green is a big deal for us too. By ditching the mountains of paper needed for multiple planset revisions, we're doing our part for the environment while streamlining our operations. It's a win-win situation, where progress meets sustainability.

HCSS Plans isn't just about plans management. We're also using it for estimating and pulling quantities, making job information accessible with just a tap. This level of convenience and accuracy is a game-changer, helping us deliver top-notch results on every project.

This week we are taking a look back at our Highway 12 Project in Maple Plain, Minnesota. We captured this drone footage two years ago in August 2021. This project included a 1.5 mile reconstruction of TH 12 from County Road 6 to Baker Park Road. 🛣️

Our hard working team performed these construction services that reshaped the landscape:

• Geomembrane lined pond
• Reinforced soil slope walls
• New storm sewer and utilities
• Center concrete barriers
• New roadway section grading and paving

Safety was our driving force throughout this endeavor. This project was designed to eliminate head-on collisions on this stretch of Highway 12. By enhancing sightlines for motorists, introducing a 15-foot-wide raised concrete median, and expanding the road section, we championed safety every step of the way. 👷‍♂️👷👷‍♀️
