Lately we've been asked to do something a little different: teach.
More and more organizations are trying to handle video in-house - It can save money, it’s faster for day-to-day content, and not every video needs to be a full production.
But a lot of teams struggle with many aspects of video production. So, I can come in and work with them on the practical side of production: camera setup, lighting, audio, interviews, b-roll, gear use, and how to think through a shoot before problems show up later in the edit.
I put together a page with more information here:

It’s Memorial Day weekend, and I found myself watching one of the most meaningful projects I’ve ever been part of.
In 2005, Creative Images was asked to record the funeral service for Marine Cpl. Robert “Bobby” Warns II of Wisconsin, who was killed in Iraq at the age of 23. The full service was created as a keepsake for his unborn child and family.
We also created a shorter 5.5 minute tribute video so friends, fellow Marines, and extended family who could not attend could still take part in remembering Bobby.
What happened next was something none of us expected.
Long before YouTube, Facebook video, or modern social sharing really existed, the video began spreading across the internet. Traffic became so intense that my hosting company temporarily moved my website off the shared server because the video was overwhelming it. At the time, they also hosted major national websites, including Best Buy.
The tribute was aired in full on Milwaukee television stations and discussed nationally on radio programs. It connected people across the country who wanted to honor a fallen Marine and support his family.
Now, over twenty years later, the video still exists online as both a memorial and a reminder of how powerful video can be when it preserves something real.
Memorial Day is not about a long weekend. It’s about people like Bobby.
Semper Fi.

35 years in business this year - which means 35 years of people occasionally asking if we do haircuts. 😂
When Creative Images was getting started, we actually wanted to call it "Video Images" - but that name was already taken. So Creative Images it was, and here we are.
It's been a great run. Lots of projects, lots of good people to work with, and still plenty more to do. Thanks to everyone who has been part of it over the years!

This weekend we filmed the visit of the relics of St. Thérèse of Lisieux to Holy Hill. From the procession to the Mass celebrated by Archbishop Grob, it was an amazing display of faith and devotion.
The short film is now live.

We did some filming of interviews for A&E Network last year, and apparently, made their “approved vendor” list. 😀
A totally different team from the network brought us back for a “True Crime” episode - this time, just capturing lots of drone & land shots of the crime locations, as well as iconic Milwaukee overview shots.
I’ll be filming some video for Holy Hill next month, but while I was there for a meeting last week - with peak fall colors - I felt I needed to bring a drone.
It was cloudy all morning, but right after the meeting the sun started to break through. I only had to wait about 20 minutes for it to hit the basilica.
Funny part? I’ll probably only use 3 or 4 seconds in the final piece.
Which clip would you pick?

Just received word that the 2025 Diocese of Rockford Diocesan Appeal video won the Award for Excellence for Annual Appeal Video from the International Catholic Stewardship Council - for the second year in a row.
This year’s project marked the 50th anniversary of the appeal and included some VHS archival footage, a before-and-after priest interview (1992 and today), and narration by Bishop Malloy from the cathedral balcony.
Thanks to Claudia Broman, Bishop Malloy, and the Diocese of Rockford for their trust over the years.

I spent the day interviewing farmers and capturing footage of the herds. The project was a freelance shoot, and once the filming wrapped, I handed off the footage for the client’s team to edit and use how they needed.
Sometimes clients need the full production package, and other times they just need someone to show up, capture great footage, and deliver it ready to go.
- and yes, the cows were great on camera. 😀
