MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — A 29-year-old is dead following a shooting that took place early Friday, Nov. 1 in Milwaukee.

Milwaukee police say the shooting took place at around 1:19 a.m. near the corner of 87th and Carmen. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing as police search for unknown suspects.

MILWAUKEE, WI— On Friday, November 1, 2024, at approximately 1:19 a.m., on the 8700 block of Carmen Street the Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) responded to a gunshot victim where he was called to the location by female that was currently residing at the property. Once he arrived victim was shot in the back of the head. A 29-year-old male victim was transported to a local Medical Examiner Office declared deceased on the scene from a single gun shot to the head.

At this time, no one has been taken into custody and we are seeking additional suspects. The suspects involved may be facing felony homicide charges, party to the crime under the charge of aiding and abetting, and spoliation of evidence obstructing an officer
A Class H felony that can result in up to $10,000 in fines and six years in prison. This is an active investigation.

Requesting assistance in identifying all the individuals, including witnesses, involved. Those that cause harm to others in our community shall be held accountable.

This behavior is not just unacceptable, it is inhumane. Violence is never appropriate conflict resolution.
