Sometimes working on the tailgate of my truck is the best work bench. The new Milwaukee M18 full size router was a beast with that big round over bit. No trouble at all putting that profile on in one pass. The Freud Quadra Cut bit helped. Easily did 24 linear feet. Not sponsored, just like the tools.
The long weekend has been nice to finally finish getting the cedar trellis up. It adds a little privacy to the backyard and keeps the dog from running into the central air conditioner unit. Happy Independence Day! 🎆
Just finished up my part of a basement project in Waterford, cabinet installation, countertops, all trim, shelves and hardware installed.
Well, that was long overdue… replaced the jockey wheels on the power feeder. Just like new. Thanks to Renovo Parts for having some. ( not sponsored, just like the tools )
Well, every now and then, a tool breaks down. Boy am I happy that I have Milwaukee tools. When the trigger went out on my drill, I brought it in to the Milwaukee repair center, they wrote it up, and sent it in to be fixed. I just got it back, and I did not expect that they would replace it with a brand new one! Super thanks to what an awesome company! FYI, not sponsored, just really like the tools and can’t say enough about them.
Ever feel like you’re stuck with a small refrigerator? Well, let’s modify that cabinet. New rail and bottom, cut down true doors and router in the correct profile. Ready paint… NOTE: not sponsored, just like the tools.
Well this was fun, a Packout Jobsite Router Table. The build and configuration was fairly simple and easy to make. Should save some fingers when I custom make tiny or delicate trim pieces for clients. Let me know what you think, or maybe Milwaukee Tool should make one… FYI, not sponsored, just like the tools.
Well a fun day tearing out an old closet, and building a new modular closet with adjustable shelves and adjustable clothing bars. Hopefully this solves many problems for this homeowner. Looking forward to the next project!
Just a little trim, if you’re wondering. It’s just a detail of a larger project which will be pretty awesome when it’s completed.
All part of a days work making some simple custom door and window casing. This old Delta never gives up, it ran all morning. One 3amp hour battery on the Milwaukee trim router and we were all set with a 1/4” round over on both sides of our 16’ pieces with battery left to spare. Not to miss out on the Bora saw horses which held everything up at an easy height to work on. Sorry if this sounds like an add, I’m not sponsored by anyone, I just really like the tools!
It was long overdue. I set up an old friend, my lathe. A tool I inherited from my grandfather, and while he was alive, he taught me how to use it. Even though these are just oversized dowels, it was nice to set it up again and use it. I forget that some tools are my therapy. These will be legs on a rather unique and fancy bathroom vanity.
So a project that started before our shop moving is finally finished and delivered. It is a kitchen island with open storage on one side and seating on the other. A simple design made to look like a freestanding piece of furniture instead of a normal cabinet. Constructed out of hard maple, which is painted, and solid cherry top and shelves, which are finished with Odie’s Oil.
Well, that’s all 28 of the 6” clamps and all 14 of the 30” parallel clamps too, oh and a few 6” HD clamps as well. Never enough clamps….
What a great job site combination. Getting the job done and cleaning up as I go.
So I’m helping install an outside access door 🚪 in an older home. It is always fun doing some archeological work when taking apart something from decades ago to see what was done.
A fun project, definitely not little. This all takes place in an enclosed breezeway between the house and garage. Part one was to take up the flooring and install a electric radiant heat floor, then reinstall the flooring and all the trim. Part two is the building of a wardrobe closet and bench with cubbies. The bench seat is a hard cherry top. I’ll admit I got lucky with the hook spacing, they perfectly covered the screws that anchored the new painted wood piece to the stud’s in the wall. All in all I think it turned out pretty nice.
From the clamps to rough sanding and trimmed up to size….
The results on my Resaw project….
Very first resaw at 10” tall x 68” long. Thanks to Timber Wolf Bandsaw Blades for some great advice on getting the right blade for the job!
