Due to staffing shortages both the Arcadia Mill Visitor Center and Homestead will be closed tomorrow December 17. Additionally, both sites will be closed the following two weekends for the holidays. Both will reopen in January.

As always, the Arcadia Mill boardwalk and nature trails are open year-round from sunrise to sunset.

Happy Friday! We are looking for a student who is interested in a part-time groundskeeping position at Arcadia Mill, preferably someone with previous experience with a zero-turn mower! The position is 6 hours a week and pays $12-13 per hour.

All you have to do is just cut the grass once a week (based on season)--- listen to a podcast or some music and enjoy the sunshine! If interested, please DM or email [email protected].

Just a reminder that the Arcadia Visitor’s Center and the Arcadia Homestead site are closed today due to staff shortages. But have no fear, you can still visit for a brisk walk along the boardwalk and nature trails from sunup to sundown!

Due to staff shortages, the Visitor’s Center and Arcadia Homestead site will be closed to the public this Friday, January 28th and Saturday, January 29th. The outdoor facilities at the mill will be open as usual from sunup to sundown. We hope to reopen on Friday, February 4th!

Did you know that New Year’s Eve also signifies Freedom’s Eve? December 31, 1862 marked the night before the Emancipation Proclamation was signed by President Lincoln. In the years following and still today, Watch Night services are a tradition in which many African American church congregations come together to celebrate New Year’s Eve and the end of slavery with praise, fellowship, and hope for the future.
