We will be meeting again at Covington Mercantile and Coffee Co., located at 5675 Hwy 90, Milton FL. August 26, 10:00 a.m. There is a table in the mercantile area that should be reserved for us. Hello, everyone! Our Knotty Prayers group will be meeting Saturday, July 22, 10:00 a.m. at the coffee shop posted previously. I spoke with the owner yesterday, and she has reserved a table for us in the mercantile side of the shops.

Hi everyone! Our April Knotty Prayers meeting will be Saturday, the 22nd, 10:00 a.m. at The Village Inn on Hwy 90 in Pea Ridge FL. We met there once before, and we had a good time and good food. I look forward to seeing the regular and new faces Saturday morning.

Our Story
Our Knotty Prayers Ministry began as a Prayer Shawl Ministry in 2011. Since then, our volunteers have provided prayer shawls to many members of our community, as well as across the country. Although started as a ministry of First Presbyterian Church in Milton, this is an open group whose ministry is composed of volunteers who serve God by using their time and God-given talents to create items to bring comfort and solace to those in need. In 2015, our members chose to change the name of our group to "Knotty Prayers" to symbolize what we do - creating items of warmth and comfort by tying orderly knots while we pray that God unravels the "knots" in the recipients' lives. Our name change allows us to encompass other forms of outreach within our group, for example hats and scarves for the homeless, chemo caps, NICU caps, lap blankets, and more.
As we create each item, we pray for continued blessings to follow and that the recipient will feel loved and cared for. We also pray that they will never feel alone and can always feel God's spirit. When one of our creations is presented to someone, it is a visible expression of care, concern, and God's love.
We invite anyone who is interested in this ministry to join us at our monthly meetings which are held the 4th Saturday of each month, 10:00 a.m., at Mama Lattes coffee shop located at 5412 Stewart Street, in Milton, FL. If you do not know how to knit or crochet, that's okay... our members will be happy to help you learn; those who sew are also very welcome. We hope you will join us one day soon.
