Sitting here on Christmas Eve doing some year end work, and thinking about all the projects we have accomplished this year. One project really stands out for us, and that is the Milton Middle School oak tree. It took a lot of coordination with, The Milton School District, H & N Crane, The City of Milton, and the WI DOT to make this all happen. We were contracted to remove a very large dying Bur Oak tree. So the day before Thanksgiving we shut down a main road going through the city and had to re route traffic. A 70 ton crane was set up in the road to disassemble the tree piece by piece. The removal process took around 4 hours and the whole job about 6 hrs (not to bad with 3 guys). When the tree was down a rough count of the growth rings came to an age of around 200-225 years old. It was somewhat of an emotional day. On one hand I was honored that we were the ones to take down this piece of history, but on the other hand it was a little sad to see this tree come down. Its amazing to think what that tree has been though, all the changes to Milton it has seen, how many children have walked under that three on their way to school. We might not be the biggest tree company in the area, but we are making steps in the right direction everyday. Doing jobs like this shows that we are growing and I can not wait to see what the future brings. I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday with your friends and families and wish you all a great New Year.
Working on Clear Lake today, thus customer bought this lake house from his grandfather. The mighty white oaks hadn't been touched for years. 3 removals along with some well over do trimming to lift the trees up over the roof makes this property look alot more appealing from the road. Tight working areas are no problem with the mobile lift.
A few pictures from my phone from the maple tree job.
We took down this very large maple tree in a Janesville resident's backyard. They had contracted with another big name tree services in the area in April, but after numerous phone calls and messages left it was clear they were not coming back to do the work. We came in set up a 70 ton crane in the front yard and lifted everything into the front yard. The only part we could not lift was the base of the tree which we will be going back to remove next week. Hopefully the ground will be a little dryer. We can handle just about any tree out there. This job took us 7 hours.
The guys knocked out this splitting maple this morning in less than 2 hours even with all the rain we had no yard damage. The neighbors were afraid of it falling on their house.
3rd and final job for the day. Trim back from the house and lift over the road to meet city regulations
Second job of the day.
Removing a dead oak tree this morning for the city of Janesville water and sewer commission.
A couple elm removals in Milton today. Also cleaned up the low branches over the shed and the fence. Brush and logs lowered down to ensure safety and minimal damage to the turf.
Today we took down this monster dead oak trunk. Hanging over 3 different properties with 3 different fences. The base was over 46" wide. Another company started to remove it years ago, sadly they took the money and never came back. We only take payment when the job is done and the customer is happy.
Nice and easy get them on the ground Friday morning.
6 pine trees today and 1 small ash tree. 2 service line drops and very steep driveways to walk up and down. Luckily we were able to get the chipper down to 4 of the pine trees.
Friday we took down some walnut trees hanging over a camper and shed. We couldn't get the crane in due to the canopy cover overhead. Everything had to be lowered down by ropes and chunked down in firewood pieces. We even hand loaded the logs because he just had his driveway seal coated. Sometimes you need to go back to old school ways.
We did 8 removals today just down the road from our shop. Homeowner wanted to keep all the wood and wood chips nice way to start the holiday weekend. Happy 4th of July everyone stay safe.
Doing some township tree removals today, acouple rotten ash trees and some 80ft tall black locust hanging over the roadon a blind curve. Warning signs are a must.
Today we did a large willow tree that fell across someone's long driveway in Sat high winds. Very tight to get the trucks in to work. Swamp on both sides of the driveway. All cleaned up abke to gain access to their house again.
Some pictures of some of this months projects. We got to demo a mini loader, remove a large ash tree that the stump will be carved into some bears, and remove a large storm damaged oak over a house.
Over the winter we gave our chipper a make over. New hubs, brakes, hoses, knives, strobes, and paint

We had the opportunity to try out a new bandit 19xp for a couple days. Its amazing how fast you can fill the truck. The winch saves your back, but takes a little getting use to.
Team work makes the dream work.
Kobs & Roberts Services is looking for a few more skid loader operators for the winter season. 1 for our Janesville location, 1 for our Delevan location, and 1 for our Milton location. Machines are newer with cab, heat, and up to date snow pushers. Applicants must have experience with machinery due to the fact that you will be working in high traffic areas, and be able to work odd sometimes longer hours. You must also be responsible, follow directions, and have clean driving history.
