Integrated Stage Academy

The kids and I made my husband a four-course meal for his birthday dinner and the surprise star was a last-minute savory pear soup!

🍐 🥣
3 pears, diced
Leftover bacon grease
6 oz. cheddar cheese
1 cup half and half
16 oz. chicken broth
1/4 cup sage (my husband is obsessed)
Salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder (to taste)

1. Toss the diced pears in the bacon grease on a sheet pan.
2. Bake for 25 minutes on 375°F.
3. Melt the cheese in some of the half and half and broth.
4. Transfer all ingredients to a blender.
5. Blend and place in a pot.
6. Keep on low, stirring occasionally, until ready to serve.

Reading tutoring today had word mapping with Post-It note sound boxes and pumpkin letters. Then we "wrote" cursive letters on geoboards. So much fun!

This picture: brunch, math, or both?

I think it's easy to think STEM or STEAM and go immediately to science, but we can't forget the math! Math is about relationships and problem solving. It's about creative thinking. Math is a necessary part of innovation and the future.

So excited to share that I'm featured in the Fall 2024 STEM Connect Magazine!

Fashion camp days 2 & 3: some millinery practice, fabric design and basic hand sewing, paper towel glove project, duct tape and trash bag fashion, a tour of the building, and practice rendering! We've also learned about Coco Chanel and THE (my fav).

Today we also watched a video from the Math @ Work series featuring and highlighting the math in fashion.

Tomorrow they begin to create their designs for Friday's fashion show!

I popped over to the @ at to pick up a little something for camp next week and I saw these beautiful pieces on display in the lobby. Can't wait until camp! Next week, get here fast!

We took the kids to the Arboretum today and it is stunningly beautiful. The girls got to make ice cream in a bag, too! So excited for next week's STEAM camp!
