Last Thursday we said happy tails and new adventures to our beautiful Jasper Ray.
We saved Jasper from our local shelter back in early January.
Took some time for Jasper to decompress, learn all new routines and be ready for his forever home.
He was so shy and scared. With a broken spirit.
But over time his foster showed him not all humans are bad. And soon he learned how to play, car ride, and loved all his fur friends.
From Midland, Tx to Brownfield,Tx
To Oklahoma and then meeting his new amazing family in CT
It was quite the trip and he was the best boy all the way there.
Thank you to our partner rescue
Live Free Animal Rescue for arranging his transport on their bus so he could get outta Texas.
And huge thanks to everyone involved helping him get there.
It does take a village and we love when we get to work with amazing rescue people.
Special thanks to his amazing adopters for loving Jasper just the way he is 🫠🙏
And thank you to his foster Tama Parker Hobbs for being ever so patient until his big day arrived.
Have the best life ever now
Jasper Ray. We love you ❤️

Yesterday we welcomed this little guy to the SDR family 💛
His new name is Mikey
Mikey came in with two other siblings as strays.
Both his siblings got adopted, so while we were at the shelter we decided to take him.
Since he was all alone 😔
Such sweet shy little guy who just wants to be held and loved on.
Mikey is already neutered, rabies vaccinated, 4dx tested and has had one intake vaxx.
We still have to get his fecals done, convenia shot and he will need a booster vaxx next week.
Plus he'll need his Health Certificate when he goes up north next month.
✅️Total needed for Mikey $200
We are struggling on donations and in the negative on Shadow
Vet bill $2,000 plus currently.
So if anyone can spare a few dollars we'd greatly appreciate it.
If you can please share we'd appreciate that to.

Let's talk about shelter dogs
Shelter dogs like these two beauties
Della Rose and Archer
Della Rose came in so scared and defeated. As most Heelers who enter a loud shelter they become so withdrawn and start to shut down. Some can adapt and some don't. Della was one that didn't do well, as to why we got her out.
She had no confidence and petrified of everything.
Now several weeks later she has done amazing.
Car rides great. Loves to play with other dogs and feels confident again. She is truly amazing and so incredibly sweet.
Archer also came in as a stray. He won hearts all over Facebook. So many wanted him. So many people even said they were adopting him. As the days went by, he sat and waited for that big day he'd go home.
No one came. The shelter kept filling up and as we sat watching and seeing, no one was coming. We had a foster offer to take him.
Both incredible beautiful dogs.
Amazing personalities and so sweet.
Not every dog shows perfection while in a shelter.
But are quite different once they are given the chance and taken out of an environment, that is hard to cope with.
We want to give a huge thank you to Tasha Sport Dog & Pet Photography Tasha Finley Sport for the beautiful photos and showing how amazing shelter dogs are.
Your work for all the shelter dogs is always amazing.
Thank you for all you do for them.

We had an exciting weekend 🐾
Our sweet little Poppy found her fur-ever family.
Poppy came to us from our local shelter in April when she had tested positive for Parvo.
We immediately got her out and to our vet.
Her battle with this sickness took several days to overcome as she was so young and tiny.
After recovering and going into our foster home, she then made her way into the hearts of one of our fosters family member.
Once she was fully recovered and cleared by our vet we got to make it official
Poppy went home with her new family yesterday 💕
Thank you Val and your whole family for adopting Poppy and giving her the best home.
We know she's going to be living her best life ever 🩷
And thank you Kathie for helping make this happen and giving Poppy all the love and care while she was recovering.
Poppy is home sweet home and we couldn't be happier 💖

Draco 🤎🤍
It's not every day we get the chance to share one of our dog's life's journey after SIX YEARS
For those who remember, know what an amazing soul he has.
And for those who are new, what an incredible dog.
Draco came to us in July of 2020, from the old Midland Animal Shelter.
A beautiful Heeler. Broken and so incredibly defeated.
Up for euthanasia because of his injuries.
We got him out that very same day.
Long story short
He was broken in several places throughout his hind end.
Draco went through rigorous surgeries and procedures for a shattered back leg, broken pelvis
And eventually getting that leg amputated.
We called him our "million dollar bionic heeler" 🤑🤠💪
After ALOT of rest and rehab
He went up north to our partner rescue.
Adopted quickly
And today we got the cutest update
His Pawrents got married and we couldn't help but share how adorable they are and that cake.
🐾🤍🤠
We love updates and we are always grateful to be able to follow our dogs journeys we once had before they traveled to new adventures.
