TBP Present: "The Fantasticks" opens in just 3 days, and we want you to meet the key players in this amazing production! 🌙

Introducing Ethan Child of E. Bridgewater who stars as Matt. The boy at the center of the plot, he believes himself to be in a secret romance with the girl-next-door and has no idea they are playing right into their parents’ hands. Being away at college has lead Matt to believe he knows what life is really like, but his naivety and false bravado lead him to learn some hard truths about himself and the world. 🎭

“'The Fantasticks' is such a charming musical. It's been a couple years now since I've been able to act in a musical, and this show seemed like a perfect return,” says Child. “Right from our first rehearsal, I have been blown away by the talent of the actors I get to share the stage with. I really think we have a rockstar team putting this show together. I think we're breathing some new life into a classic show.” ⚔️

Child has been acting since he was in high school and has been able to continue participating in theater in college, acting in several productions at Bridgewater State University. “Acting in Shakespeare productions has always been particularly rewarding for me; I spent a summer as Mercutio in Nemasket River Productions outdoor production of ‘Romeo and Juliet’, which ended up being a favorite role for me.” When not performing, Ethan teaches English and advises the drama club at Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School. He can also be seen performing professionally as a magician all over the state. 🎶

THE FANTASTICKS opens Friday, February 18th, and this is one you definitely do not want to miss! Visit www.bayplayers.org for ticketing info. 🎟

TBP present: "The Weir" by Conor McPherson opens tonight, and we want to introduce you to the final talented cast member of our tribe!

Meet Ed Krasnow who plays Jack, a gregarious, quick-witted, and slightly volatile local mechanic whose playful tale about fairies unexpectedly leads his friends and fellow patrons down a darker road of spectral haunting.

Krasnow has been performing in the Boston area for over 30 years. Past Bay Players shows include Laughter on the 23rd Floor and Lovers & Other Strangers. Previous shows include Curtain Call Theatre's Frost/Nixon, 12 Angry Men, and Tale of the Allergist’s Wife, Nemasket River Productions' Moonlight and Magnolias and All My Sons, and he has worked with Plymouth Community Theater, Massasoit Theatre Company, Hardly Working Productions, and recently finished a performance in the shorts plays at the The Theater at Hollywood and Vine in Plymouth. Ed has had a wonderful time working with such an incredible tech team; thank you to our director Matt, our stage manager, Stephanie, our set designer Ricki, and props mistress Leslie. Special thanks to Michael Pevzner for his tireless support and help with lines. Ed thanks his family and friends for their patience and support during the rehearsal process and appreciates the encouragement of everyone who enables his acting habit by attending these performances.

TBP present: "The Weir" by Conor McPherson opens in just 4 days, and we think it is time to introduce you to our talented cast members

Meet James Koonce, who plays Finbar, a successful businessman that sells a 'haunted' house to a mysterious young woman and who, through shrewd investment, has come to own much of the town.

"I love it when I come across a show I don't know, especially when it's got such potential for really interesting character work,” says Koonce. “I didn't come into it with any preconceived notions, and hopefully our audiences won't either."

“The whole play is set in a tiny bar in rural Ireland during the course of one night, so there's not much that goes on in terms of plot. The story that unfolds is all about character, the humanity that everyone reveals about themselves - through love, loss, missed opportunities and perhaps even second chances. Drop in a few elements of the supernatural, in a way, and it all adds up to an intimate and spellbinding evening that might just send a shiver down your spine.”

Koonce was an actor in college and shortly afterwards, but then work and family kept him away from the theater for nearly twenty-five years. “Getting back in touch with that side of my creative self has been a transcendent experience for me,” he says. Recent shows Koonce has been a part of that number among his favorites include “Laughter on the 23rd Floor” with The Bay Players, “Moonlight & Magnolias” at Nemasket River Productions, “Present Laughter” at North River Theater, and “Dracula” at The Company Theatre Center for the Arts.

Outside of theater, Koonce is an advertising creative in Boston, and the proud father to his amazing daughter Sofie, currently in her second year at Smith College.
