Here’s what experts at the National Association of Realtors (NAR) are forecasting…
✔️ Home sales on the rise
Expect a 9% increase in existing home sales and an 11% jump in new home sales. With more jobs and improving economic conditions, more buyers may finally make their move!
✔️ Mortgage rates to stabilize
Rates may hover at the lower end of the 6%–7% range, but don’t expect drastic drops yet. The Fed’s rate cuts might help, but the budget deficit will play a key role.
✔️ Slow & steady home price growth
Prices are expected to grow at a more manageable 2% in 2025, bringing some relief to buyers after years of rapid increases.
✔️ A new wave of buyers
→ Cash buyers are making moves, with 26% of home sales being all-cash.
→ First-time buyers are older (median age: 38), saving longer, and putting down bigger down payments.
→ Multigenerational homes are rising, with families combining incomes to afford a home.
