💛 It doesn’t get any sweeter than this 💛 Not even a week ago, Chloe and her Puppy Daddy were surrendered with Chloe just days away from giving birth.
Now, just a few short days later, all puppies are here, and Chloe, even though she is only one year-old, is being an amazing Mom!
We think everyone that has sent gifts for the new mom through her puppy registry and we very much continue to welcome donations of any size to help us cover three checkups x four puppies x four vaccines x six neuters via Chloe’s Perfundr at https://petfundr.com/campaigns/a2jxA8
This will be Chloe’s one and only litter and we can’t wait to see her puppies get bigger 💛 (and we should all sleep as well as those puppies are 😂)
Donations do not need to be big to be impactful and shares and comments are 100% free and support Chloe and her new family too! Thank you to everyone who has donated so far!

Dash is ready to be adopted!! 🎉🎉
This sweet boy is 4 years old and weighs 10 pounds.
Dash is good with other dogs, cats and kids. He loves to be near people as much as possible and LOVES belly rubs.
Dash came to us with IVDD and although we did have him get surgery on his spine, he did not regain his ability to walk. Dash is SUPER quick in his cart and loves going on walks and exploring the yard (and if you saw his recent video, chasing chickens 🐓😂). When not in his cart, he gets around fine using his front legs. He has drag bags for times that he’s on rough surfaces.
We know that many people think that caring for a paralyzed dog is difficult, but it really isn’t. Dash does need to have his urine expressed, but his foster can show his new family how to do that. His poo is solid and usually comes out right after a meal when he’s out and about.
Dash doesn’t have any idea that he’s any different than he ever was and loves to play and get as much attention as possible. He lays at his foster’s feet while she works.
Dash did have some strange sensations post surgery that caused him to chew on himself. That has completely stopped and the meds he is on now should be continued. DRSF will provide 2 month’s worth of meds, the cost of what he needs is around $40 a month.
We know the right family is out there for this gorgeous boy! 🩷 And we cannot wait to see Dash thriving with his forever family! 🥰🥰
Interested in adopting from DRSF, please fill out an adoption application at www.dachshundrescuesouthflorida.com!
🐓💙 Dash Has Discovered Chicken 💙🐓
There is nothing we say to make this video any better than it already is and we couldn’t even put audio over top of it as it would have ruined the magic. 🪄
Rest assured that no chickens were harmed in the making of this video and the one that caught Dash’s attention made a full getaway, completely unscathed 💙

💙 Chloe is a Mom! 💙 Not even 72 hours after being surrendered with her Puppy Daddy, and being only one year old, Chloe welcomed 4 puppies without needing a c-section- PHEW! President Pam was with her the whole way and said that Chloe did great. 💪
There are 4 boys….Jojo, Cecil, Keke and Alvin, and we are laughing as one of them looks like he looks just like his Daddy.
Puppies need a LOT of supplies and vetting and we thank everyone who has donated for the 4 rounds of checkups these little ones will need, not to mention vaccines, spay/neuter, and a whole lot of p*e pads and puppy food.
You can help us make sure Chloe’s Pups have all the supplies they need via her Chewy puppy registry at https://www.chewy.com/g/dachshund-rescue-south-florida_b109961882 -list , via her Perfundr at https://petfundr.com/campaigns/a2jxA8 OR thanks to our partnership with Givebutter you can now TEXT to donate by texting DRSF to 53-555 💙
Thank you, thank you to everyone who has donated and sent supplies from Chewy- and would you believe they have been delivered already???
We can only say yes because YOU make it possible. All it takes is $1 to join the hardest working team in rescue and Chloe, Jojo, Cecil, Kiki and Alvin send their thanks for making sure they all have nothing but better days ahead! 🥰

🩷🩷🩷Mishka🩷🩷🩷
We just introduced the beautiful Mishka a few days ago and we have found out that she’s healthy (other than she was full of worms and was a bit dehydrated and anemic, those things all will resolve with good care and good food).
Mishka is 8-9 weeks old. She weighs 3.5 pounds. This beauty is a sweet, playful pup! She is good with dogs and cats.
Mishka is not spayed yet, we are going to wait until she is a bit bigger. This means that she is only available for foster to adopt. All foster to adopt families must live in Palm Beach, Broward, Miami Dade or Fort Myers so that Mishka is close to our partner vets!
If you would like to adopt from DRSF, please go to www.dachshundrescuesouthflorida.com and submit an adoption application. Mishka needs donations for her initial vetting costs of $225 & her new start kit which is $50. We welcome your donation in any dollar amount at the above website.

💛She is just days away from a potentially complicated birth and she, her puppies, and her puppies’ Dad all were surrendered. Meet Chloe, Spot, and Babies A,B,C, &D and we are back to ask your support for a new Mom who lost her home via her Petfundr at https://petfundr.com/campaigns/a2jxA8 or by texting DRSF to 53-555 to help cover the 16 vet visits the puppies will need (2,4,6 and 8 weeks) along with vaccines and spay/neuter.💛
Read on below for more of Chloe’s story….
Little Chloe is a teeny-tiny Yorkie mix little girl who just over one year old and despite how handsome he is, it was probably not on Chloe’s bingo card to mate with Spot, who is twice her size.
When we were asked to take them, we knew that Chloe was pregnant, but when we learned that she had mated with a much larger dog, the stakes got much higher much faster.
X-rays revealed that Chloe has 4 puppies in her by a dog much bigger than her increases her risk of needing a c-section.
We have stepped up and offered them all a safe place to land and we have committed to providing Chloe and her puppies with all the care and supplies they will need. In the mean time Chloe is getting settled in her new home and enjoying some time in the sun before her Mom duties officially begin.
All new Mom’s deserve a baby shower and Chloe has set up a registry at Chewy at https://www.chewy.com/g/dachshund-rescue-south-florida_b109961882 -list with all the food, blankets, beds, and p*e pads that she will need (SO many p*e pads) to care for her puppies and she also
We can only say “yes we can help” because you make it possible.
We are looking at over $5,000 to provide everything this sweet family will need and every dollar donated ensures that Chloe, Spot and their puppies are taken care of AND makes sure our war chest is ready to help whoever is out there and will need us next.
As always, donations do not need to be big to be impactful and even if you are not able to donate, comments and share are zero cost and help too! Thank you!!!!
💙Dash Update💙
It has been one week since we shared an update on Dash as all of our team, and especially President Pam has been holding her breath each time she goes to check on Dash to see if he has eaten any more of his toes - or anything else for that matter - due to nerve sensation that can sometimes present in dogs who had zero deep pain going into surgery.
When we last left Dash, Pam had consulted with anyone and everyone at both LeadER and SEVN, as we have had very limited success in combating dogs self mutilating due to post op nerve sensation in the past, and if Dash continued to try to eat himself, there wasn’t going to be anything we could do for him.
Dash had run down the gambit of neuro meds to try and get him to stop and as a Hail Mary, there was one new med that we could try. Brand new.....LITERALLY the last option.
The script was written and the Dash got the meds.
Rescue folk have low expectations. We are not optimistic people. We have seen it go sideways too many times. We expect the worst and are pleasantly surprised when anything better happens.
It has been over a week and Dash has not tried to eat any part of himself.
We are guardedly optimistic.
We are just going to say those words and leave it right there and not taunt the universe.
Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared, prayed, commented and left messages of love and support for Dash! We can’t do it without you.
