Earlier this month Quest2Freedom Founder and CEO Victor Williams spent time with NAMI Miami for a community event recognizing Bebe Moore Campbell Minority Mental Health Awareness Month.

As an Anti-Human Trafficking organization dedicated to combating the global issues surrounding human trafficking through a comprehensive approach, we know how deeply interconnected trauma, recovery and mental health truly are. Events like this highlight the incredible power of hope, love, understanding, and community support.

Together, we are stronger, more informed, and better equipped to heal and to help others to do the same.

Human trafficking response works best when cities, counties, law enforcement agencies, and community organizations work together in coordination.

On Thursday, July 23, 2026 at 9:00 AM, the City of Miami Government will consider Resolution RE.16 (File #19574), reaffirming the City's commitment to its Human Trafficking Task Force, designating a Task Force Coordinator, strengthening coordination with the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office Human Trafficking Unit, and expanding community outreach.

Earlier this year Quest2Freedom was honored to partner with Global Ties Miami to moderate a specialized panel on Trafficking in Persons: Prevention and Mitigation — bringing together law enforcement officials, prosecutors, and military representatives from 13 African nations, including Algeria, Benin, Burkina Faso, DRC, Djibouti, Ghana, Guinea, and Senegal.

Q2F Founder & CEO Victor Williams, a retired DHS Homeland Security Investigations special agent, served as moderator. Survivor leader Gloria Martinez, Founder of Taking Back the Girls, provided powerful insights on victim identification and the importance of trauma-informed care.

As Miami steps into the global spotlight for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, we're reflecting on this conversation and why it matters. International gatherings of this scale bring heightened trafficking risks and exchanges like this one, across disciplines and lived experiences, are how we stay prepared.

We're also proud to be part of , the South Florida coalition convened by The Women's Fund Miami and led by the Office of the State Attorney - Katherine Fernandez Rundle’s Human Trafficking Task Force united in prevention, awareness, and connecting victims to services.

As the 2026 FIFA World Cup approaches, Quest2Freedom is reflecting on the critical work already underway to strengthen human trafficking prevention, identification and response across South Florida.

Earlier this year Quest2Freedom's Founder and CEO Victor Williams, participated in the Office of the State Attorney - Katherine Fernandez Rundle’s 2026 Human Trafficking Forum, an action-oriented event held at Camillus House. Founder and CEO Victor Williams, who also serves as Vice Chair of the Miami-Dade County Human Trafficking Coalition, joined as a panelist and subject matter expert. Along with retired Homeland Security Special Agent and Q2F consultant Katina Hernandez, the Quest2Freedom team shared insights on community-led identification and mentorship programs for survivors.

The event demonstrated a strong commitment to collaboration and preparedness, particularly in addressing the increased risks of human trafficking associated with major upcoming sporting events, such as the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The forum, themed "It’s Game On," focused on proactive strategies to combat human trafficking in anticipation of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, as large-scale sporting events are known to elevate the risk of exploitation. The event also highlighted Project Phoenix, a survivor-centered initiative between the State Attorney’s Office and Camillus House that provides essential services to trafficking survivors.

Cross-sector, culture-informed collaboration is central to work and what drives our mission: empowering survivors and strengthening communities through education, awareness, advocacy and action.
