Breeze Bridge Tower Project

Can a high rise building last to 2100?
By that year, it is estimated most of Miami Beach will be underwater with SLR up to 10 meters. The Breeze Bridge Towers aim to be a resilient project able to adapt to environmental changes and completely carbon neutral, producing and using all the energy that it needs, while providing all necessary services, making it fully autonomous. The simple yet effective design strategies help the high rise passively, while the natural wetland ecosystem helps maintain local vegetation and species.

In order:
1) exterior view
2) wetland ecosystem
3) marina and algae farming
4) eye view
5) massing passive strategy
6) programming
7) typical floor plan
8) slr section
9) CND strategies

Digital Elkhorn Patterns for _ Coral Reef and Ecosystem Rehabilitation _

Elkhorn corals, which are one of the main coral species in Florida, have suffered a 97% decline in the past decades. In this project, digital tools like Grasshopper are used to create early prototypes based on the texture and patterns of the surface polyps of the coral. Their small scale complexity is fundamental to create new artificial habitats for the marine species impacted by Elkhorn decline, as well as help the regrowth of new corals. Those prototypes are designed with additive design strategies to be 3D printed with sustainable materials.

🔹Hues of Miami 🔹

Something different...A week ago today, I presented my first research project at the URFIU conference. This research was done in Fall 2019 through the ARCH program.

This project discusses the use of color in two of Miami's most important areas: Little Havana and the Art Deco District. Through a cultural and historical analysis and by visiting the sites of interest, I developed a color palette represents each district, and found a meaning behind the use of specific hues and tones.

If you're curious to know more, you can find a summary at my Colors of Cities website, or you can contact me privately for more information about it.

D5 P1 - Bus stop design project

Rendering from my first project in a graduate design studio.
For my proposal I wanted to create a bus stop accessible to children and families. The design resembles the fun shapes and colors of a playground, while keeping the kids safe and entertained.
Can improving bus stops in Miami, addressing the needs of the community, help increase the use of public transport?

I also had the great opportunity to be selected among my section to present my idea to a super jury after out final review.
