🌳 June 13th - TREE TIP OF THE DAY 🌳
Sensation Maples handle our alkaline soil better than most. Their compact size and drought tolerance make them a “set it and forget it” choice for smaller lots. 🍁

🌳 June 11th - TREE TIP OF THE DAY 🌳
Canada Red Chokecherry has reddish-purple leaves that deter some deer. A colorful, tough native hybrid that thrives where other trees struggle in our winds.
This also happens to be one of Kimble’s (Owner and OG Treasure Valley Tree Guy) favorite trees‼️

🌳 June 10th - TREE TIP OF THE DAY 🌳
Especially in clay soils much like we have in the Treasure Valley, plant trees slightly high (root flare visible) to prevent girdling roots. We see too many buried flares leading to slow decline or rot.

Rocky Mountain Juniper “berries” are actually modified cones. Crush one for a gin-like scent—our native aromatic superstar that needs almost zero water once established. 🫐

🌧️💨 Heads up, Treasure Valley neighbors!
A bit of wind and rain is heading our way over the next couple of days. While it’s not a major storm, it’s a good reminder to get ahead of it and protect your home, trees, and family. Here’s a quick checklist:
For Your Trees & Yard: 🌲🌳
• Secure loose branches — Walk around and remove any dead, damaged, or hanging limbs you can safely reach. (Pro tip: June is a great time to schedule a pro prune before summer winds pick up!)
• Stake young trees if needed and check ties on established ones.
• Clear debris around tree bases so water drains well and doesn’t pool.
• Mulch helps absorb rain and protect roots — top it off if it’s thin.
Our Treasure Valley trees (like those beautiful Ponderosas, Junipers, and Maples) are tough, but a little prep now prevents bigger headaches later. Stay safe, stay dry, and check on your neighbors!
If you spot tree damage after the wind, feel free to reach out — we are happy to help however we can. 🌳

🌳 June 8th - TREE TIP OF THE DAY 🌳
Prune fruiting trees like Crabapples in late winter (Feb/March) to avoid fire blight, common in Idaho springs. Summer pruning stresses them in our heat. 🥵

🌳 June 6th - TREE TIP OF THE DAY 🌳
Deep water new trees with a 5-gallon bucket poked with holes buried at the drip line. It delivers slow, deep moisture—ideal for our clay soils that dry out fast. 💧

🌳 June 5th - TREE TIP OF THE DAY 🌳
Honey Locust trees drop tiny leaflets that disappear into the lawn—no big messy leaves in fall. A low-maintenance “self-cleaning” tree is perfect for busy Treasure Valley yards.

The Tree Guy is officially kicking off the season and ready to serve the Treasure Valley.
If you’ve been putting off tree work through the winter… now is the time 👇
🌳 Why February & early March are the BEST times to have your trees looked at:
✅ Trees are dormant — ideal for pruning without stressing them
✅ Easier to spot dead, cracked, or hazardous limbs
✅ Prevent spring wind & storm damage before it happens
✅ Promote stronger, healthier growth for spring
✅ Beat the spring rush and lock in your spot early
The reality is — once March hits, schedules fill FAST. Getting ahead now can save you money, prevent damage, and keep your property safe.
If you’re unsure about a tree on your property, don’t guess. Let’s take a look and give you peace of mind.
