I remember as a little girl I would find so much joy in decorating my childhood home for the holidays. This include the Thanksgiving set of Annalee Dolls my mom had. They were placed in the center of our dining room table every year. I never once thought that I’d be painting a custom painting for them years later. I always feel so honored that people and companies trust me with painting them such unique and sentimental paintings.

Happy New Year!

This last year was pretty wild! I wasn’t expecting the interest and admiration of my paintings that I have received. What started off with me moving some old art supplies around to get ready for our house renovation, turned into me starting my own little business doing what I love.

I had to take a bit of a break during the holidays to finish up our renovations, spend time with family and friends and re-evaluate my goals for 2023. With that being said, after some long contemplating, I will be increasing my prices for custom paintings. Prices will be based on materials and time. Custom paintings have been taking me anywhere from 6-10 hours to create, along with extra time for driving to take photos & deliveries. I also will not be able to have a quick turn around on orders and will be asking for at least a month on custom orders. I want to make sure that your custom pieces are not rushed and are perfect 💜. For me, art is a mood. It’s my little escape from my busy life and the mood definitely has to strike for me to create something I’m proud of. I would love if I could do this full time, but that is not realistic (yet 🤪).

A couple more recent illustrations! I will be taking orders after the holidays for custom pieces. They don’t have to be of your home either. Shopfront illustrations can be a great gift for an expecting parent to decorate a nursery. Penny’s MAJICK Shop is a great example of a nursery room piece. Maybe your wedding venue for an anniversary gift? I have so many great ideas!!!

Dropped off my first set of prints at The Mello Moose Coffee House in Meredith, NH! Their gift shop is full of art by local artists and is a great place to do some Christmas shopping!

THE GARON’S

I’ve known this house to be the one with the rainbow fence and today I got to deliver this painting to the owners! I could tell they were just as happy as I was to see their home turned into a storybook-like painting.

I sometimes get a bit nervous that I won’t be able to capture the emotion of the home along with the visual depiction. I try to think - if someone described their childhood home to me - could I paint it without ever seeing it? If they shared memories and small details - like a certain tree, door colors, smells, historical stories, special lanterns or door knocker…could I use those descriptions to help connect the emotions a bit better? I try to let the home tell me a story and then I try to tell the story through the painting. And when the painting gets hung on the wall, I hope it watches over the home…and I hope it collects more and more stories over the years.

There was a long debate between my sister, my brother-in-law, my boyfriend and myself and what to name this bakery. We all agreed ‘The Rolling Scones’ was appropriately funny!

This piece took 8 hours to sketch, outline and paint.
