Happy National Brisket Day! 😁 There is nothing quite like the comforting aroma of a home-cooked meal to bring everyone together. Today, our wonderful culinary team filled the dining room with love, serving up a cozy lunch of tender, slow-cooked beef brisket. We paired it with warm herb-roasted Dijon potatoes and sweet ginger carrots, wrapping up the meal delicious slice of rich raspberry cheesecake for dessert!

🎵 We want to give a special thank you to the Gospel Music Group for an incredible, interactive performance. Our residents had the absolute best time singing along!

This Memorial Day, our community pauses to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. We are deeply grateful for their service, and our thoughts are with the families who carry their legacy forward. Today, we reflect, remember, and honor together. ❤️🤍💙

Creativity and smiles were on full display yesterday! 🥰 Our talented residents turned simple egg cartons into stunning, personalized wreaths. From bright paint colors to sparkling jewels, flowers, and butterflies, each piece is as unique as the hands that made it. 💖

Tuesdays are for celebrating! 🎉 Yesterday was National Devil's Food Cake Day, and our residents enjoyed delicious, homemade slices for a sweet afternoon treat. We love marking a fun National Day every single Tuesday & we have been so lucky with delicious treats the past few weeks! 🍰✨

A day before Mother's Day, we hosted our annual Mother's Day Tea celebration! 🫖✨ Our residents looked beautiful in their tea hats while enjoying a delicious variety of hors d'oeuvres and assortments of tea. The extra special touch? All of the gorgeous teacups and teapots collected over the years by our wonderful Activities Director! Thank you to everyone who made this day so memorable. 💕

We’re excited to welcome everyone back as our Summer Sessions resume on Tuesday, 5/19, with classes held every Tuesday and Thursday at Park Merced!

These classes are completely free and hosted by Merced College, featuring expert instruction focused on improving balance, strength, and overall safety.

Today our virtual travels took us to the breathtaking Redwood National and State Parks in Northern California! 🌲✨ Residents enjoyed an informative documentary showcasing the towering ancient redwoods, scenic coastline, and incredible wildlife that make these parks one of our nation’s natural treasures. Home to some of the tallest trees on Earth, Redwood National and State Parks protect nearly half of the world’s remaining old-growth redwood forests.

For lunch, we took inspiration from the Log Cabin Diner in Klamath, CA, located just north of the Redwood National Park Visitor Center. Residents enjoyed a delicious Mexican-inspired meal featuring fresh avocado salad, handmade fry bread tacos, rice and beans, and strawberry sopapilla cheesecake for dessert. 🌮🍓

To wrap up our adventure, residents added another stamp and memories to their National Park travel booklets, where they’ve been documenting all of their virtual journeys across the country. 🛤️📖

Today we celebrated National Nutty Fudge Day with a sweet afternoon treat! 🍫✨ Our wonderful Activities Director whipped up these delicious homemade walnut fudge squares from scratch, and they were a big hit with our residents. Nothing brings people together quite like a little chocolate and a lot of love! ❤️
