We are a 501 3(c) non-profit all-volunteer organization committed to rescuing Golden Retrievers Our generous donors help fund our annual veterinarian expenses.
We offer placement services for owners who need to give up their Golden Retrievers because of changing life circumstances such as relocation, financial hardship, divorce, allergies, illness, or death. We offer our families an alternative to taking their pets to an animal shelter or trying to rehome them on social platforms. We also rescue abandoned, neglected, and even abused Golden Retrievers. Ab

ADOPTED AND MOVING TO HER FOREVER ON VALENTINE'S DAY❤
Introducing our beautiful denior girl, Amira, who is 13 years and 4 months old. She is 62 lbs of happiness and sometimes a spicy girl. She can get in and out of a car. She walks about a mile. Great with other dogs and cats. Sleeps through the night. Navigates a two-story house. Since she is such a healthy girl, we decided to do surgery to remove a 2 1/2 lb lypoma and a small soft tissue sarcoma the size of a quarter from her left side. Blood panel, X-rays, and ultrasound found no cancer elsewhere. She is finally getting her stitches removed this week after 21 days, and she is raring to go. She keeps bringing the ball to her foster family and tries to play with her foster brothers. She is being fostered in Milpitas. If you have an Adoption Application on file and would like to consider Amira, please reach out to your Area Coordinator. We will support any extraordinary veterinary bills long-term.

THE BOYS ARE ADOPTED AND MOVING TO THEIR FOREVER ON VALENTINE'S DAY❤
Meet our delightful golden brothers, Jago (80 lbs, 9 years old) and Cheerio (70lbs, 5 years old)! These sweethearts are a bonded pair and absolutely adore each other. Although they started out as backyard dogs, they've made a smooth transition to indoor living. Both boys are neutered and up to date on veterinary care, including dental cleanings and baseline blood panels. They're big fans of kids of all ages, and Jago is especially fond of cuddling up on the foster’s bed! At night, they sleep in crates (though they'd happily snuggle on the bed instead). They’ve mastered ignoring the bunnies outside and are curious but untested with cats. Heads up: Jago can get a little car sick, so some planning helps. Cheerio is Jago’s shadow—he doesn’t let his big brother out of sight! These two are a fantastic, fun-loving pair at a great age and must be adopted together. If you’re looking for double the love and double the joy, Jago and Cheerio are your guys! Please visit our website to complete an adoption application, or email [email protected] if you are interested in these wonderful boys. They are being fostered in Sunnyvale.

Rainbow is a handsome 9-year-5-month, 80lb Golden Retriever-Irish Setter mix. But don't let his age fool you; this is a high-energy dog with no plans on slowing down anytime soon! Rainbow is a typical family dog who gets along great with kids and is more than happy lounging by your side. He thrives in the outdoors and LOVES his daily 2-3 mile walks. Rainbow walks well on the leash in a neighborhood/sidewalk setting, but he's also a strong dog who requires an experienced, alert, and sturdy owner to manage him if he sees a cat or squirrel. Because of Rainbow's size and strength, we'd recommend kids ages 9 and up in the household. Rainbow is good with other dogs, unless toys are involved. Because he does not like to share his toys, we are recommending that he be the only dog in the home. Rainbow has excellent manners at home and is accustomed to his schedule. He will take himself to bed early, sleep all night, and usually waits to be awakened to start the day if it's before 7 am. He does not jump on furniture, loves his bed, and is very affectionate once trust is established. He greets people nicely at the door with guidance and encouragement, and is very, very treat-motivated, so training is fun and interactive. He may have a history of counter-surfing; however, nothing has been observed by his foster mom. He shows no destructive behaviors in the yard or inside the house, and he greets people and other dogs politely on his walks.
Cats are a definite NO. Rainbow completed a wellness exam with blood work in January and has no known health issues. If you're looking for a fantastic companion dog and are an experienced dog owner committed to giving him the daily exercise he needs, please reach out to your Area Coordinator or indicate your interest on your application. Rainbow is being fostered in Chico.

One of our followers asked for better pictures of Sadie......Updated
Sadie is a beautiful, friendly eight-year-old spayed female who loves other dogs and people. She has been an excellent foster "mom" to two 3-month-old golden puppies - she plays tug of war with them and chases them around the yard. She would be delighted to have a family to call her own. At the vet visit on 9/5, the hip X-rays were perfect. A small cyst on her head was removed and found to be benign. She is current on all vaccinations. She barks in the car and sometimes in the house for attention. She is a very smart girl and tilts her head when you're talking with her. She would like to chat with you about any upcoming adventures where she can be included! Sadie is 82 lbs and is being fostered in Walnut Creek.
❤️❤️
Sadie meets Junior, our special needs pup. Both dogs are looking for their forever home. Individual posts for Sadie and Junior on Facebook and Instagram. Both are being fostered in Walnut Creek

Junior is a 4-month-old golden puppy who came to NGRR from a shelter, where we had been in foster care for almost 3 months. He's now 4 months old and is doing great, all things considered. He's an adventurous puppy who enjoys exploring and playing with his foster dog siblings. And he likes the evening snuggles with his foster mom. Junior may have a congenital brain issue and will be seeing a neurologist in a couple of weeks for further assessment. The eye doctor says that Junior is completely blind, and he has some issues with his gait, as well as a tendency to grind his teeth when frustrated. He continues to amaze his foster mom - after just 72 hours, he learned how to get himself off the pool cover when she calls his name. He runs around the backyard and hops like a bunny sometimes, to the delight of all who see him. Junior would love a family with a doggie sibling so they can show him the ropes, as well as someone who is home most of the time. Teenagers or older kids only, as he does occasionally bite and could unintentionally hurt little children. We're working on potty training. Junior is being fostered in Walnut Creek and would love to meet you!
