The pressure is on and the leaderboard is tight. These contestants have battled all season long, and now it all comes down to one final week. The Top 4 in each event will earn the chance to represent Tennessee at the National High School Finals Rodeo in Lincoln this July! 🇺🇸🐴

Name: Maddie Young

Events: Barrel Racing and Pole Bending

2025/2026 Goals: This season, my goal in barrel racing is to finish in the top 4 and qualify for Nationals in Nebraska. In poles, my goal in just to have consistent and smooth runs.

Favorite HS Rodeo Memory: My favorite HS Rodeo memory was the pickup race in Athens, Alabama. Everything was going great until my friend absolutely face planted in the arena. Probably should’ve checked on her first …..but I was laughing too hard.

Plans after Graduation: My plan is attend Murray State University, complete on the rodeo team and pursue a degree in nursing to hopefully be a labor and delivery nurse one day.

Plans after Graduation: I plan to attend the University of Alabama in the fall with a major in kinesiology.

Plans after HS: I plan on attending the University of Wyoming to study Animal Science.

Some things change… the legs get longer, the pony gets bigger, and the little girl grows up. But the love for horses, and rodeo nights stays the same. ✨
