NEW RULES ABOUT SPOTIFY, for artist that don't know....

Spotify is making some changes to better support musicians who rely on streaming for their income.

Stopping Cheaters: There are some people who try to cheat the system by faking streams to get more money. Spotify is going to charge these cheaters and those who put their music on the platform if they're caught faking streams.

Not Losing Money: Sometimes, really small payments get lost in the system because they're too tiny to be worth transferring to the musicians. Instead of these tiny payments being forgotten about, Spotify will now wait until a song has been played at least 1,000 times before paying out. This way, the money won't be wasted, and it will go to the musicians who need it most.

Stopping Noise Exploitation: Some people upload background noise tracks, like whale sounds or white noise, to make easy money from people who leave them playing for hours. To stop this, Spotify is making rules that these noise tracks have to be at least two minutes long to earn money, and they won't be valued as much as regular music.

These changes are meant to make sure that the money from Spotify goes where it should: to the musicians who work hard to create music.

So if ya royalty checks look a lil funny this year... you know why now.

Having been away for a prolonged period, I am certain that I possess an abundance of fresh insights and perspectives to share with the community, and eagerly anticipate the opportunity to engage in lively discourse with my contemporaries.

As I perused through the roster of featured producers, I could not help but be struck by the sheer magnitude of talent on display. Many of these individuals I have had the privilege of working alongside, and hold in the highest esteem. Yet, there are others who I have yet to encounter, but whose reputation and reverence within the city of Memphis are unmistakable. To them, I extend my sincerest regards.
