Why Axiom? (Part 3)

“Oh man just put a Holley Terminator on it!”

Yeah you could. But you’re paying for a name. And dealing with a huge corporation who could care less about you and your project. And putting up with poorly written software, firmware that can take over an hour to update and Chinese built hardware.

Axiom is built in the USA. The software and firmware isn’t written by cubicle dwelling IT nerds who have never been under the hood of a car. Ken, James and Dimitris are all car guys . Support is from people who use Axiom daily. Find a bug? Report it via the support forum (or possibly in Slack) and it WILL get fixed

Another solid weekend at the track for Axiom.
Selin “Papi” Rollan got another enduro class win in his Axiom 600 powered ITS 99 Miata
And AKT racing won their class in the 2.5L Axiom powered 2007 MX-5.

Let's talk some more about Axiom EFI.

Axiom is a new ECU made by some old friends. Ken Culver and James Murray who wrote the firmware for Megasquirt including MS3 got tired of waiting for MS4 (this is the problem you have when the pie is cut into many pieces. MS ownership is confusing).

So they designed their own system from scratch and started Axiom EFI.

The Axiom 600 is a V8 capable 32 bit ECU designed to compete with Haltech, FuelTech, Maxx ECU, and Link to name a few of the systems out there. It's an extremely powerful system with onboard wideband controllers (2), onboard full bridge servo drivers (4) for DBW, Stepper IAC and EGate control, 2 CAN busses, 2 knock inputs, 2 EGT thermocouples and a boatload of I/O. Servo drivers can be used as high side or low side outputs too! It has a 32GB onboard SD card for datalogging at up to 1000Hz and native USB support no USB/Serial adapter needed.

AxiomEFI Tuner software is free to download and is a compact and fast program with some truly impressive features.

The firmware is also quite impressive and has a number of unique features.
Step method Lambda control. Simple to tune and really works
VVT base angle auto detect
1 button ANY drive by wire throttle calibration.
Engine saving safeties for Lambda, Oil pressure, Fuel Pressure and EGT.

The Axiom 600 retails for $2100
A PnP adapter is available that will work with 90-00 Miatas and many other Japanese cars from the 90's and early 00's (Denso N76 connector)

Installed and tuned systems start at $3500

Congratulations to AKT Racing P1 in class P4 overall at the Sebring Labor Day enduro. This was the first race since an Axiom 600 was installed and tuned!

Also a big shout out to Selin Rollan P1 in class in both the enduro and the feature sprint race. Selin has been killing it in his Axiom powered ITS Miata for over a year now!
