Non-surgical Nose Job. This patient had a previous surgical rhinoplasty but was not completely satisfied with the results. She felt she still had a slight dorsal hump and wanted a more lifted nasal tip. With strategically placed filler we were able to achieve just that.
Previous surgery and/or injury to the nose does increase the risk of filler in this area. This does not mean it can't be done but understanding this risk and being well educated in complication management is so important. As well as taking all necessary precautions to minimize this risk. I have this conversation with every patient prior to the procedure to ensure they are aware of this risk and know all the things to look out for prior to leaving my office.

Facial Balancing. This patient came in wanting to look like a refreshed version of herself. With little bits of filler here and there we were able to achieve just that. It’s the smallest tweaks that make the biggest difference.
Areas treated:
· Midface
· Pyriform/Nasolabial folds
· Chin/chin shadows
· Prejowl sulcus (hollowing in front of the jowls)
· Non-surgical Nose Job

No, we don't sell half syringes. We don't sell syringes at all actually. We sell results. We sell experience. We sell quality. We sell safety. We sell knowledge & skill. We sell education. But we don’t sell syringes.
So much goes into choosing the amount and type of filler. Bone structure, tissue quality, level of volume loss, degree of obtainable correction, etc. I honestly don’t even know how much product I am going to use prior to injection. I have a general idea but that may change as I see how the tissue responds. So when I get asked “how much product are we gonna use”, I of course don’t mind having that conversation, but often times the answer will be “I don’t know, however much it takes".
So just know you're not paying for the syringe. You're paying for the person holding the syringe. Let's make sure we choose that person wisely.

Non-surgical Nose Job. This patient was primarily concerned with her nose in profile view. She wanted to reduce the appearance of her nasal hump and subtly lift the tip without creating a dramatically lifted tip that can sometimes occur with surgical nose jobs or over correction. With strategic filler placement we were able to give her a straighter bridge and lifted tip for that softer profile view.
People often ask how we get noses to appear smaller even though we're actually adding volume. And it is quite the mystery. It's all about softening the harsh features that "stick out" and improving proportions. By giving the face that balance and harmony the nose almost always appears smaller.

Nose, Lips, Chin. My favorite profile balancing trio. This patient was most concerned with her profile view while also wanting a subtle lip enhancement.
By treating the nose we were able to camouflage the hump and lift the tip. We added natural chin projection while still remaining feminine. Lip focus was on creating a very subtle projection and hydration. By treating these areas in combination we were able to achieve a more seamless profile view.
At her next session we plan to treat the midface and temples for more structural support.
Areas treated:

· Lips
· Chin
· Chin shadows/prejowl sulcus (area in front of the jowls)

What you hear as the PATIENT vs what I’m saying as the INJECTOR. There is always a thought process behind every decision. Just know that in the end I will always have your best interest at heart.

First time lips. Lips should always look natural both at rest and with movement. Proper product selection and placement is crucial for this. It is so important to do a thorough evaluation of the lips, discuss patient goals and expectations and create a plan moving forward. Each pair of lips are unique and come with different challenges and ultimately a different treatment plan. There is no one size fits all approach.
This patient for instance had a beautiful lip shape to start. She lacked definition and volume in the body of the upper lip. Her upper lip also had a very prominent white roll creating a visual ledge at the border prior to even injecting. It was really important to focus the upper lip filler to the body of the lip while avoiding placement at the border to prevent the ledge from becoming more prominent creating unwanted projection and a ducky appearance. The bottom lip was slightly flattened in the center and lacked hydration. So for the bottom lip we needed to focus the filler placement in the center to create a more rounded and feminine appearance with conservative soft filler placement along the border for more definition and hydration in the parts that were lacking.
Filler should always be placed with intent. Focus should not be on quantity of product but on overall result. This is how we maintain natural results.

Today is Rare Disease Day. Rare diseases often get overlooked when it comes to research and funding due to lack of knowledge and understanding. It all begins with awareness. Awareness comes from talking about it which can be hard but necessary.
Meet Mason. He is 2.5 years old. He started having seizures at 2 months old. He was diagnosed with PIGA-CDG at 4 months old. This is a rare genetic condition. There are ~200 others in the world with the same diagnosis. This condition comes with treatment resistant epilepsy, hypotonia, developmental delay, gastrointestinal complications, among others.
Mason’s first year of life was quite challenging and he had to endure things no child should. There were medical doctors who told us things no parent should have to hear. Mason proved these doctors wrong in so many ways. We are fortunate. Things are much better now yet every day is unpredictable and comes with new challenges. Challenges of which many other families also face.
Mason has to work extra hard to do things most people don’t even have to think about. He goes to therapy 5 days/week. He has become far too familiar with hospitals and specialist visits. He jumps hurdles and overcomes obstacles every single day. He does this with poise and grace and usually a smile on his face. He is happy. He is loving. He loves snuggles and tickles. He lives for bouncing and swinging and flying and thrill. He loves music and books. His laugh lights up a room and his big toothy smile will melt even the hardest of hearts.
The reason for this post is to bring awareness. PIGA is one of many “rare diseases”. And although these diagnoses may be rare the lives they effect are abundant.
Treatments and cures are currently being explored but are often halted by limitations. Gene therapy is a promising treatment for not just Mason’s condition but potentially all “rare” genetic conditions. We have personally met with doctors who are exploring treatments as we speak but are halted by limitations, including lack of education, knowledge and funding. But it all begins with AWARENESS.
To all of the families affected by a “rare disease” we see you.
Love sharing knowledge! The success of an aesthetic injector depends of course on drive and determination but even more on their willingness to learn and ADAPT. This field is forever changing which is one of the many characteristics that make it so exciting. But if you aren’t willing to grow with it you will get left behind. So you absolutely cannot become complacent in this field. Knowledge expands, techniques advance, products evolve, results improve. With better understanding of facial anatomy and the way products react in facial tissues we can create customized results tailored to each individual patient.
I am constantly seeking out trainings and new learning experiences to better provide for my patients. The way I treated someone last year may not be the same as the way I treat them next year. And I also LOVE sharing this knowledge with other providers. Because in the end we’re all in this together. And we should all want the same thing, which is whatever is best for the patient.

Facial Balancing with focus on volume replacement. This patient was unhappy with her midface. She once had full cheeks but over time volume loss caused midface hollowing and descent of tissue leading to a more aged and tired appearance. She also has some hyperpigmentation accentuating this hollowing. By replacing the volume we were able to restore a more youthful cheek contour bringing life back into her midface and creating a more lifted and rested appearance.
Now that the we have corrected the volume deficit we will continue to work on the hyperpigmentation with at home skincare.
Areas treated:
· Midface x 2
· Nasolabial folds/pyriform space (triangular hollow next to nose)
· Chin
Future plan:
· Subtle lip for hydration and structure
· At home skincare for hyperpigmentation
