I’m alive (I think). Here is my face as proof of life.
Random musings while I drink a cup of tea-
I managed to go three and a half years without getting Covid, and finally decided I’d take a trip with friends (and was masked), and it got me on day 2 of the trip. Being sick sucks. Being sick while away from home sucks more. I did the best I could, but I really struggled. The brain fog was / is the worst. I am pretty sure I just followed everyone around and whined about being hungry the entire time.

I have good and patient friends willing to put up with me.

I hit the year mark of growing out my gray. It’s about chin length now and honestly I might just chop it all off and be free.

I re-opened my Etsy shop! I have had it closed since new years when we got hit hard with storms and had to move. I’m super excited to be back with it and I have missed it a lot. (LotusandBliss on Etsy for those wondering)

I kinda want to rebrand my jewelry shop. I guess I get bored easily?

Tomorrow I’m getting back to painting.

I miss having cats. I think I will move that up on the calendar.

Working on a long post about a return to meditation and yoga and how fu***ng hard that is. But I mean what are you gonna do? Some days everything is just hard and you do what you can, even if it isn’t much. Even if it isn’t much at all.

One pair only of these just finished feather earrings! Brand new and just listed in my shop. Gorgeous teal verdigris patina on antiqued copper. 3" long total.

I've found the perfect shade of taupe. I call it "Perfect Taupe". Clever, eh? I made these earrings in two sizes and I couldn't decide which size I liked better, so I offer both.

Buy handmade

A lesson in customer service- sometimes you can do everything right, you can photograph from every single angle, and measure every single piece, and document every single step of the way, and be open to accepting feedback and always looking for ways to change and improve; and there is still the chance that the buyer will misunderstand. And when the customer is unhappy, you can acknowledge, and listen, and apologize; and even still, they may call you a liar, and be incredibly rude, and threaten you with bad feedback, and continue to threaten you with "blasting you on social media" over the mistake that is theirs and not yours, and the only thing you can do is look up and move on. Focus on the fact that you are doing what you love, and on the thousands of pleasant customers you have had, and that no, you can't please them all but pleasing 99.9% of them is really darn good. Hang in there, fellow artists and crafters and online sellers. Keep your heads up and keep on keepin' on. I see you
