This one is fun and the stems are extremely long. Find this and more over at Meadowpoint Dahlias. 📸 Aaron Shelor
Steve travels the country working with feed mills, helping his customers to mix ingredients in a dynamic and innovative industry. Steve and I connected over a mutual passion for cattle feedyards and his love of gardening with our dahlia tubers from Meadowpoint Dahlias.
Steve's story of being LGBTQ+ in agriculture and coming out in the workplace will be familiar to many. To his relief, many co-workers are very supportive of who his, but as is often the case, the journey is not always easily accepted.

We've diversified our cattle farm by offering dahlia tubers. These flowers come in so many varieties, it seems impossible to count them all. I'm constantly amazed at how may different colors, styles, and sizes these blooms come in.
We've focused on dahlia varieties with vibrant colors and informal styles - and they make for such a beautiful addition to the garden.
We're wrapping up the Spring tuber sale season on June 1, but still have several beautiful varieties in stock. You can get yourself a tuber (or a few) for $6 each and I'll ship it anywhere in the lower 48 for $10 - free if you get 15 or more.
Let me know if you are interested in a bulk purchase to fill those flowerbeds and gardens.
But here's a shocking figure...
We're planting over 470 varieties of dahlias this Spring. YES! That's a TON of tubers and I can't wait to share all the beautiful blooms this summer on the Meadowpoint Dahlias page!
So you need to help me clean out this Spring's tuber inventory to make way for the new crop coming soon.
Diversifying the farm is always an important way to grow and we're having fun with this venture.
It takes work to make different aspects of the farm work when you are selling direct to consumers but I love the conversations and relationships we build along the way
We are right along the Blue Ridge Parkway and have the opportunity to welcome many people traveling from North Carolina metros to enjoy peaceful weekends in our rural area. They're always full of wonderful questions and appreciative of the work we do on the land.
I'm thankful for these times that remind me why we do what we do day in and out on the farm.
JANES Choice dahlia is? I purchased from you.
Can't find on internet.
Thanks
Or if you'd like to get several in one big box, we have this special for 15 tubers.

The big dig has begun! One row down...
A little later start than I hoped for. I wanted to spend some time painting and installing shelving in the basement. It took more time than planned as most things do.
I think it'll work well though!

Cooler weather is in the forecast which means our growing season is coming to a close! These plants just keep climbing!
Come get your dahlia blooms at the Meadows of Dan Farmers Market on Sunday from 10 to 2.
We'll also have our beef from Meadowpoint Cattle Company so you can grab a roast or ground beef for some hearty meals this week.

I don't have many white dahlias but the ones I do are loving this cooler weather...
If you're near Meadows of Dan this weekend, find us at the Farmers Market on Sunday to pick up some fresh blooms for your Labor Day.
We'll be set up in front of Primitive Coffee - Antique Market & Bakery from Noon to 2 on Sunday with blooms and pre-sales for beef from our farm (Meadowpoint Cattle Company).

Hollyhill Spiderwoman is a fun new addition.
Anyone that uses dahliaaddict.com as a resource and has purchased from us in the past, we would love for you to leave a review. We were recently added to their listing and reviews would help reassure new customers. Thank you all for your support!

Cafe Au Lait, a very popular whimsical cream dahlia, is showing out today along with some of the more vibrant dahlias that I love to see.

River's Phoenix is an amazing new addition to our gardens this season. The petals remind me of cartoon flames...

More blooms I'm excited about...
