» How often do our consultants travel? «

The profession of SAP consulting requires being onsite at client sites. As our clients are from the manufacturing industry, our consultants need to work closely with the client teams located at the production plants. Though, it is difficult to forecast the travel requirements, based on the past few years we can estimate that our consultants travel 25% of the time. There are times when the consultants need to be onsite for consecutive weeks, but they usually return home to spend time the weekends with their family and friends.

We travel to client sites for important workshops, key user trainings, Go-Lives and hyper-care support. In the case of new projects or new customers, we also travel for pre-sales activities, such as an initial analysis or for project planning.

Our customers are located throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and travel to all areas depending on needs, but most of our travel is along the East coast.

We had a wonderful time celebrating 25 Years of ORBIS America in the office yesterday 🥳🎉 We look forward to achieving many more milestones with our team!

Michael has been with ORBIS America since its start in 1999 and is now heading the company as President & CEO. After 5 years of conducting SAP projects in Germany at ORBIS SE, he and some colleagues came to the United States to help our customers here.

It's been an incredible journey thus far, and we are excited to see what the future has in store! Thanks for being here from the start!

» What is the work culture like at your organization? «

Our team is the backbone to our success. We believe in working hard together, being positive, inspiring each other, and celebrating our accomplishments along the way. We aim to create a happy and healthy work environment where our team feels comfortable putting their best foot forward.

We are working nowadays in a hybrid mode giving everybody two days each week to work from home. Those who come to the office usually enjoy their lunch together, either in our conference area or by going out together. This helps to connect on a personal level and discuss topics besides work.

To celebrate all of our hard work throughout the year, we have a special summer and end of the year party where our whole families are invited. We also enjoy each other's company during happy hours and celebrating cultural holidays.

We also have an open door policy, which means that everybody is accessible to everybody for questions of support, guidance or any other subject.

Pravallika joined our team this week as an SAP ABAP Trainee Consultant. She recently graduated with a master’s in computer science from George Mason University.

She said, "Starting this new chapter at ORBIS immediately after graduation, I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. Like many, I experienced the first-day jitters, but I quickly realized how friendly everyone at ORBIS is.

Klaus Schmidt gave me a great start, and Achyut Koulgi provided invaluable guidance and support despite his demanding schedule. I also want to thank Michael Winkelmann and Sudha Rani Pathuri for their friendliness and assistance during my first week. This support has shown me that ORBIS is committed to laying a strong foundation for my career.

Even with their packed schedules, everyone is helping me learn everything necessary to become a proficient SAP ABAP professional by providing thorough training to ensure I work efficiently in the future."
