One of the great things about swim-jigs, you can fish them with regular Jig rods, 7' to 7'6" Medium Heavy Fast (MHF) or "Medium Heavy Action, with a fast tip" are excellent rods to use, or use any jig rod you currently use for throwing Football jigs, or heavier baits.
These jigs will fish deeper, around the cover that is heavier, around the rocks, and other bottom structure. Or you can use a lighter weight jig, and fish them shallower, very versatile. This is explained very well in these videos.
