MISSION: EDIN’s Mission is education and insight on eating disorders in the Atlanta area. EDIN strives to serve as an Atlanta-based resource for those wanting to learn more about eating disorders, for those seeking help, and for those who provide eating disorders treatment and care.

As the Collaborative of Eating Disorders Organizations (CEDO), we are excited to unite and announce Eating Disorders Awareness Week 2024, February 26 - March 3, 2024! This year's theme is, "Healing in Community." Community can be such a powerful tool in healing - we are so much better together. We look forward to having you join us and stay tuned for more information.

As a member of the Collaborative of Eating Disorders Organizations (CEDO), EDIN strongly opposes the new clinical guidelines introduced by the American Academy of Pediatrics. We do not support intentional weight loss in children via the methods included in the guidelines, especially the recommendation of bariatric surgery and pharmaceutical products for children.
The AAP’s guidelines for childhood “obesity” are harmful, may increase or exacerbate eating disorders or disordered eating, significantly contribute to medical weight stigma and fat phobia, and are not in the best interest of children. We strongly ask the AAP to please reconsider the guidelines, and engage with the eating disorders community to reduce the potential for harm to children.
