Meet Phinny and Ferb (officially) our little fighters from the Fellowship Friends colony. ❤️
Just look at them now!
When they first came into our care, Phinny weighed only 1.3 lbs. Today she’s officially over 2 lbs! Ferb was even smaller at just 0.8 lbs, and he’s now up to 1.4 lbs. Seeing them gain weight, grow stronger, and start feeling better has been such a huge win.
Today was their recheck appointment, and we received both good news and difficult news.
Unfortunately, it appears that Ferb’s right eye has likely ruptured. As the swelling around his face and eyes has gone down, we can now feel that the eye in that socket seems deflated. If that is the case, it is unlikely he will have vision in that eye.
The good news? Ferb does have some vision in his left eye! We were able to confirm that today. There is some scarring in the center of that eye, which may have been caused by his upper eyelid folding inward and rubbing against the eye. We will likely be seeking a specialist’s opinion to determine what options may be available to help preserve the vision he has left and ensure he can live a comfortable, pain-free life.
For now, Ferb will continue his eye medications, and Phinny is starting antibiotic ear drops for what appears to be an ear infection—a much easier problem to tackle, thankfully!
As always, rescue comes with a cost. Between their initial visits, today’s recheck, medications, and trying different foods to encourage healthy weight gain, we’ve spent around $500 on these two little ones so far.
If you’d like to help Phinny and Ferb continue their journey, any donation—no matter the size—makes a difference.

Baby is the last one from a small local colony we’ve been working on and she definitely made us work for it. 💪🏼🐾
This sweet girl was too smart for the regular trap, so we had to bring out the drop trap to finally get her safe. Today she’s at one of our amazing clinic partners getting spayed, vaccinated, and fully taken care of.
And just like that… this colony is officially done. 👏🏻❤️
One more group protected. One more cycle ended. This is why TNR matters. ✂️🐱

Somebody made a comment to us recently about how the kittens we post “always look sick” or “half dead.” And honestly… it stuck with me more than I expected.
But the reality is — we do take in sick kittens. We work in colonies where illness has spread for YEARS. We trap kittens covered in eye infections, struggling to breathe, underweight, exhausted, and sometimes barely hanging on. That’s not because we want sad stories. It’s because those are the kittens nobody else is lining up to help.
Of course we dream of every rescue kitten being fluffy, healthy, playful, and picture-perfect from day one. We wish every intake looked like the “cute kitten” videos people share online. But rescue — especially TNR and colony work like the Fellowship Friends project — is often messy, heartbreaking, and unfair.
We spend hours cleaning infected eyes, giving medications, syringe feeding, monitoring weights, setting alarms through the night, and doing everything we can to turn “half dead” into thriving. And lately, we’ve been winning a lot of those battles.
But sometimes rescue isn’t pretty before it becomes beautiful.
These kittens matter too. The sick ones. The crusty ones. The fragile ones. The ones that don’t photograph well yet. They deserve love, effort, medical care, and a chance just as much as the “easy”, healthy kittens do. These babies saw our vets and are on their way to being perfect, possibly with some vision loss in our little guy - but no less worthy of this care.
So if you’ve supported us through the ugly stages, the scary stages, and the healing stages — thank you. You’re helping us give these babies the chance they may never have had otherwise. 🖤
Any $5 Friday donation will go directly to their $217 invoice and is so greatly appreciated 🫶🏻

We’ve been a little quiet lately.
Truthfully? Life has been a lot. I changed jobs, we both work full time, we have house projects going on, and stress has been heavy. Social media has honestly been the last thing on my mind lately. But rescue never really pauses, even when we wish life would slow down for a second.
And here we are again — asking for help.
These kittens came from our Fellowship Friends project after one female slipped through the cracks and had a litter before we could get her fixed. We knew eventually it could happen… we just hoped these babies wouldn’t end up sick too, especially after treating almost the entire colony.
But of course they are sick. Because nothing is ever easy in rescue.
The tiny black male kitten arrived with his eyes completely sealed shut with thick infection and scabbing. It took us over 30 minutes just to gently clean one eye enough for him to start opening it. The female kitten is thankfully in a little better shape, but both babies are now on eye medications, antibiotics, supportive care, and getting everything they need to help them gain weight and start feeling better.
We are not out of the woods yet. These kittens are still fragile. But we are hopeful.
Rescue isn’t always the happy adoption photos. Sometimes it’s exhaustion, stress, syringes, crusted eyes, sleepless nights, and hoping you’re doing enough.
If you’d like to help these babies and the rest of the Fellowship Friends cats, donations toward medications, food, supplies, and vet care mean more than you know. Even sharing this post helps us tremendously. 🖤

✨ OFFICIALLY INTRODUCING… NOVA 🌙 ✨
(aka the tiny menace who gave us a full-blown heart attack yesterday… and is somehow still perfect)
Nova is officially ready to find her forever home 🖤
This girl is everything you want in a cat:
🐾 Friendly
🐾 Sweet & affectionate
🐾 Super talkative (she has opinions)
🐾 LOVES other cats
🐾 Certified cuddle bug
She’s still just a baby herself—under a year old—but has already lived a whole life before finding us. Nova came to us pregnant, after being put outside to fend for herself. Thankfully, a kind neighbor was feeding her and reached out during a snowstorm, and she came straight into rescue where her life completely changed.
Because let’s be real… it wouldn’t have been fair to ask a baby to raise babies.
Since then, Nova has learned what it means to be safe, warm, and loved. Regular meals? Obsessed. Cozy spots? Claimed. Human attention? Demanded.
And while she did take a little field trip yesterday (again… heart attack 😅), we’re pretty sure she realized the indoor life is actually ✨luxury✨ and she’s ready to retire from her outdoor adventures for good.
She hasn’t officially met dogs yet, but we think she’ll do well with respectful pups who give her time to figure them out.
💉 Spayed
💉 Up to date on vaccines
💉 Microchipped
💉 FIV/FeLV negative
Nova is the kind of cat who will talk to you, follow you, cuddle you, and absolutely run your house in the best way possible.
If you’re looking for a young, loving, slightly dramatic (in a cute way) companion—Nova is your girl 💕
📩 Apply to adopt via email [email protected]
****It would be unfair to ask nova to live life without a friend so she must go home to another friendly playful cat! ****

UPDATE: NOVA IS HOME!!! Thank you to everyone who was looking for her!!!! She is officially grounded.
‼️ NOVA IS MISSING IN MAPLE SHADE ‼️
Nova escaped this morning by pushing out a screen in a window between 5-7am. Please keep an eye out for her. She’s a previous indoor outdoor cat so sadly I do not think she stayed close by. Will answer to nova/ Nono head/ Nono girl or sweet talking voices. She loves other cats incase you are feeding and a new cat shows up. She will walk right up to you.
Please no advice - we are aware of it all. We’d like to keep the comments open for sightings.

✨ $5 FRIDAY: SMALL DONATIONS, BIG IMPACT ✨
This week we trapped at 4 different locations across Maple Shade — and successfully got 6 cats from 3 of those spots in for TNR 🙌
That’s 6 cats who will never contribute to the cycle of suffering again.
6 cats doesn’t always sound like a lot,
But that’s dozens (if not hundreds) of kittens prevented down the line.
That’s fewer sick, starving, injured cats on the streets.
But here’s the reality:
We’re covering multiple locations at once because the need is everywhere… and it adds up fast.
💸 Even just $5 helps us:
• Cover surgery costs
• Provide vaccines + flea treatment
• Continue trapping in new areas
We’re only two people (sometimes with the help of some amazing feeders) trying to make a dent in a big problem — and we truly can’t do this without you.
📍These are our local cats — Maple Shade cats — and we’re committed to helping as many as we can.
If you’ve ever thought “it’s just $5”… it’s not.
It’s another cat helped.
