Eleven years.
When I look back, I don’t just see years, I see the fingerprints of God.
Today, I celebrate 11 years of serving as a pastor, and my heart is full of gratitude.
If I’m honest, these eleven years have been some of the most beautiful and most challenging years of my life. Ministry has stretched me, refined me, humbled me, and taught me to depend on God in ways I never imagined.
I’ve stood behind the pulpit with confidence while privately trusting God for strength. I’ve prayed for others while needing God to heal and encourage my own heart. I’ve celebrated births, dedicated babies, officiated weddings, comforted grieving families, visited hospital rooms, fought battles in prayer, and watched God perform miracles that only He could do.
I’ve learned that people don’t just need a preacher, they need a shepherd.
There were seasons when attendance was small, resources were limited, and the vision seemed bigger than what was in my hands. There were moments I questioned myself, moments I was misunderstood, and moments when the weight of leadership felt heavy.
But every single time, God reminded me that He never called me to be successful by the world’s standards. He called me to be faithful.
And His faithfulness has carried me.
As I reflect on these eleven years, I don’t measure them by the size of a congregation or the number of accomplishments. I measure them by transformed lives. By prayers that were answered. By women who discovered their purpose. By families that found hope. By people who encountered Jesus.
Those are the moments that matter.
To my husband, Bishop Rufus G. Mahon, thank you for standing beside me, believing in me, praying for me, and serving with me. I could not have walked this journey without you.
To the Preserving Life Center family, thank you for allowing me to serve as your pastor. Thank you for your prayers, your love, your patience, and your commitment to what God is building through this house.
And to every person who has ever sat under my teaching, joined a prayer call, attended a Bible study, shared a livestream, or allowed me to speak into your life, thank you. You are part of this story.
As I enter year twelve, my prayer has changed.
I’m no longer asking God simply for more.
I’m asking Him for greater stewardship.
Greater wisdom.
Greater love.
Greater courage.
Greater discernment.
Greater impact.
May everything we build bring glory to Jesus Christ and leave a legacy that outlives us.
Eleven years later, my answer is still the same.
Yes, Lord.
Thank You for trusting me with Your people.
To God be all the glory.
“And I will give you shepherds according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.” — Jeremiah 3:15 (KJV)
Happy 11th Pastoral Anniversary to us. The best is still ahead.
