Happy Fathers Day! To all the fathers out there
Especially my hubby who is my #1 fan and the best day ever.
On Father’s Day I’m also reminded of all those who are fatherless or childless. Losing my day as a child made Father’s Day especially painful for many years-it was a day I didn’t want to celebrate - don’t want to think about not having a father.
Now Father’s Day is a reminder that God has redeemed that story in so many ways, mending my own broken heart.

Everytime I create a bustle I marvel at how unique each dress and each bride (although occasionally I have identical gowns).
Initially the dresses are not a perfect fit (my job to make them fit!) For all of us - isn’t it so easy to think that if we don’t fit the mold, we are a misfit?
As I taught the middle school class at church yesterday we talked about the unique gifts each one is given to serve God. I remember thinking I had to fit a certain mold - certainly the creative gift of sewing was not something that fit the mold. It was a great opportunity to remind them, that those things which excite them, and give them joy - those things that they are good at - those are unique gifts that God gave to them for a purpose. Just as I design bustles for beauty and purpose - there are no misfits in the eye of the Creator.

Back home to the sewing machine ! After the PenCraft book awards . Which includes a family trip through some of the national parks out west.

A huge thank you to for a fabulous evening Saturday. Than you to the most wonderful friends who came along for the ride. And the friend who came along to sing for the event, even though she had never sung for such an event before 💕 so thankful for all the amazing ladies !
It was truly a blessing to speak about some of my favorite topics, weaving the imagery of sewing into our secure attachment to the love of The Father.
