If you're strapping on a belt for your warm-up sets, you're actually making yourself weaker β and most lifters have no idea.
Your belt isn't protecting you. It's hiding the weakness that's going to get you hurt.
Here's the rule: You should only be squatting with a belt at 80% of your 1 rep max or higher.
Anything below that? Your core should be doing that work β not your gear.
This is why your squat has been stuck. Your belt is doing the job your core should be doing, and your body never gets the chance to build the real strength it needs.
And if you're reaching for a belt because of low back pain β that's not a solution. That's a mask.
The pain is telling you something, and covering it up is only delaying the bigger injury down the road.
You don't have to keep avoiding movements or lifting scared.
