Hearing you loud and clear from the previous survey regarding park projects, your Board of Township Trustees will be investing into trail markers at Mounts Park - among many other things.
The trails are currently being GIS mapped for topography and exact distances but we need your help naming them!
Please click on the survey below and select your favorite name for each trail OR submit your own name for the trail.
Thanks for your continued support of our parks!
NOTE: Trail #4 name has already been selected and will be released with the rest of the trail names and park projects early next year.

1-2โ of snow is predicted for this morning, please allow extra time for any necessary travel, road crews are heading out soon to treat (salt) and plow as needed.

๐๐ ๐ป๐

Saturday Update:
Our Public Works crews will be out again this morning trying to improve road conditions especially where there are snow drifts from the windy conditions.
The current temperature is 2 degrees with a wind chill of -17 so salt, our main tool for melting the snow and ice from road surfaces is relatively ineffective.
Road conditions will not drastically improve until we get closer to the freezing mark (32 degrees) which isnโt currently forcasted until Tuesday.
Stay Safe, only drive if absolutely necessary and Merry Christmas

Several residents in Morrow, Salem Twp. and Hamilton Twp. are without power therefore a warming shelter has been established at Little Miami HS
Little Miami High School has opened a warming center for those impacted by the power outage in Morrow, Ohio. Upon arrival please use the event center entrance and be extra cautious while walking into the building. Crews are working on clearing the parking lot.
Red Cross will be available for sheltering operations. Please bring any medications you may need.
No weapons or illicit drugs are permittable. Service animals only. Masks are highly recommended, but not required.
If you are unable to drive or do not have access to a vehicle, and need transportation to the warming center please fill out this form https://buff.ly/3PPjg1D or call 513-695-1313.

Hamilton Township | Report A Problem
Township Administration (Admin/HR/Finance/Zoning) staff are working remote today, staff are available via e-mail or through our โReport A Problemโ link on our website, this sends an immediate notification to our staff.
Police, Fire/EMS and our Public Works crews are full staffed. Fire/EMS are currently operating along with mutual aid departments at a Structure Fire.
Public Works continues to work on clearing secondary streets and sub-divisions, the extreme cold is limiting the effectiveness of our efforts so if you must be out use caution.

As of 7AM although the snow is gone road conditions are not good and we encourage everyone to stay home/indoors.
The current temperature is -7, but with wind gust of up to 35 MPH it feels like -31 degrees outside, and the temperature is still falling.
Our Public Works crews have been out for almost 10 hours, unfortunately due to the extreme cold salt is not activating and therefore we are not seeing the melt we would hope for and where/when we are it is rapidly re-freezing as temperatures are so low.
We will continue to work through the morning to improve road conditions, but the extreme cold will be a significate limiting factor throughout not just today but the weekend.
Stay Home/Stay Safe

The rain is quickly turning to snow in the township, our Public Works crews are heading out for the night to salt/plow as needed. Please avoid driving until we have an opportunity to salt and plow all township roads.

Now that we're all hopefully safe and sound at home in preparation of the storm, we're happy to officially announce our winner of the 2023 Trim the Township contest. Congratulations to The Blackney Family! They are the winners of our 3rd Annual Trim the Township contest. A proclamation is coming soon honoring their community pride. Thank you to all of our participants and to all of our residents for voting!๐โ๏ธ๐ ๐ป

National Weather Service latest update is shown below. Township Road crews have 9 trucks loaded with salt and on standby for tonightโs winter storm. Besides the potential for accumulating snow the temperature outside is going to drop almost 50 degrees in the next 12-14 hours. Frigid temperatures will be with us through the weekend with the wind chill making it feel more like -20. Please prepare now and plan to be off the roads early this evening for your safety as well as to allow ODOT, Warren County and our Township Public Works crews time to salt/plow overnight.
[3:40 PM] Folks, the bottom line here is that travel is going to be very difficult late this evening into tonight as a narrow band of heavy snow moves through with near-whiteout conditions. This will coincide with a flash freeze and extremely cold wind chills. If possible, avoid travel until at least road conditions improve. Outdoor conditions Friday and Friday night will be brutally cold as the wind increases to 40-45 MPH through the daytime Friday.

Yesterday we were honored to participate in Wreaths Across America Day with the Civil Air Patrol - LT COL Jerome P. Ashman Composite Squadron 145. This day is held annually across the nation to Remember the FallenโฆHonor those who serveโฆand Teach our children the value of Freedom. The cadets efforts of securing wreath sponsors resulted in us laying a live balsam wreath at each of our 435 veterans headstones in Maineville, Murdock, and Hopkinsville cemeteries.
Now through January 15th, every sponsored wreath will be matched by Wreaths across America for our 2023 efforts.
