In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week.
Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

Applications are now being accepted for our 2023 Junior Police Academy which will be held June 19 - June 23, 2023 from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. each day.
The mission of the Hamilton Township Junior Police Academy is to offer youths the opportunity to experience the methods and techniques often used in Law Enforcement. The academy will focus on key aspects of the law enforcement profession including respect, self-discipline, integrity, education, and physical fitness. Daily exercises, scenarios, and hands-on training will help the cadets build an understanding of the law enforcement profession while focusing on problem solving and the role of the police officer as a public servant.
There is no fee to attend this academy, and the program is best suited for children between 5th and 7th grade. There will be a picnic and graduation on Friday at noon which parents and siblings of the cadets are invited to attend.
Applications are available on the Hamilton Township website: www.hamilton-township.org. If you have specific questions, please reach out to "Officer Molly" at 513-683-0538 or email: [email protected].

We had a great time at the Easter Egg Drop today!

Today is the day for our Easter Egg Drop! Here are some helpful tips:
โ๏ธDress for the weather! Itโs going to be a bit of a chilly start and the grass will be wet from the weekend weather. ๐ฅพ
๐ We will be gathering near the playground area located past the tennis and basketball courts.
๐งKona ice will be on-site for purchase
๐ป 2 port o potties are located at the end of the paved path past the playground and baseball fields.
๐ The eggs will be dropped by a helicopter and the kids will be excited! Help us maintain safety by keeping your little bunnies close to you behind the designated areas during take off, landing, and egg drops. Staff will let you know when itโs safe.
๐ฅ We have over 14,000 eggs, but this is a free community event and will be well attended. Please start with gathering 10 eggs, then reevaluate. We want to ensure all children receive eggs.
๐งโโ๏ธ๐งWe ask that parents only help our youngest age group or with children that need some extra assistance. Please let the kids gather their own eggs.
๐If your child is one of the lucky ones to find a shiny, golden egg, please turn it in at shelter #1 to redeem your prize basket!

โผ๏ธโผ๏ธDue to forecasted wind for Saturday, we have rescheduled our Easter Egg Drop to Sunday, April 2nd from 12:30pm-2:30pm. โผ๏ธโผ๏ธ
Egg drop times are as follows:
Ages 2-4: 1:00pm
Ages 5-7: 1:05pm
Ages 8-10: 1:10p
Donโt be late!

Grab your fishing pole and join us on April 15th at Mounts Park for our first Fishing with the 5-0 event!

Congratulations to the graduates of the 2023 Citizens Police Academy!
For the last ten weeks, these men and women had the opportunity to get a "behind the scenes" look at policing and the criminal justice system. The goal of the Citizens Police Academy is to give our residents unique and valuable insight into the training, challenges, and rewards of working in law enforcement.
The next class is tentatively scheduled for January, 2024. To learn more, contact Officer Molly Hayslip at 513.683.0538.

Sharing our annual "Nerf Wars" post!
It's that time of year...Nerf Wars are back!
We have been informed by our School Resource Officers that the annual Nerf Wars are in full swing throughout our community.
Nerf Wars (aka: dart wars) is a friendly game that involve teenagers, ordinarily far past the point of playing with toys, stock up on Nerf guns, hoard foam darts and plot elaborate strategies against their classmates.
As in years past, we want to share these simple reminders to those participating in this activity:
DO NOT carry a Nerf gun that is all-black! Ensure your Nerf gun is easily identifiable as a โtoy gunโ & is primarily painted with fluorescent colors: bright orange, bright green, bright pink, etc;
DO NOT surround a house wearing dark clothing while carrying dark guns. This behavior โ especially when observed by the neighbors โ will certainly generate a rapid police response!
If you come into contact with the police department COMPLY with whatever instructions the officer(s) give you. We certainly do not want anyone to get hurt, we simply want to remind you that an innocent game of dart wars can be (and has been) viewed by others as a dangerous situation.
Remember the rules of Dart wars: if the police get called, you are disqualified!
Have Fun โ Be Smart!
