Today marks two years of full time tiny living! Throw back photo of the tiny in its old stomping grounds. A lot has changed in the last two years. We’ve moved the tiny twice. We now have two fur babies. We are counting down the days to our wedding.
Some things have stayed the same. I’m grateful for a place that we can call ours without the hefty price tag or high interest rates. Low housing cost allows us to continue to travel. I’m fortunate to continue to work from home in my field.
Looking forward, I think Dan would agree with me that we are itching for more space to be creative (like a garage or workshop) and I crave a dedicated office space. That being said, I would do it all again… with a few stipulations of course 😉

What a spectacular surprise from our friend Terry today! This amazing hand-crafted sign just in time for us to hang it up in our warm weather ☀️ Thank you so much Terry! What an incredibly thoughtful gift 💝

As of today, we can officially move back into the tiny house 🏡 All hookups are done, we’ve passed all inspections, and we are ready for the next chapter 🙌

The team that helped us coordinate did a fantastic job. The physical move went off without a hitch (which is the most nerve wracking part for me). We are now blocked, leveled, and tied down. Check out our spiffy new skirting and brand new stairs.

Moving part 1

Today was the day Dan and I have been dreading for a while now…the day we had to nearly empty the tiny to prepare it for a move to a new lot. Due to the weight of the finishes and bigger pieces (of course I had to have real wood siding and full-size appliances), we have to nearly gut the house to make sure we don’t stress the axels. Let’s just say, one of us has done a far better job downsizing than the other 😅.

Stress and commotion aside, we were able to get some much needed cleaning done (still more to go before we move back in) like the windows since they were much easier to reach. What I can tell you is that the tiny absolutely needs a fresh coat of paint 🎨. There are only so many things magic erasers can do lol.

Wish us luck on the physical movement portion on Monday. We are only moving about a block away but there are four pretty solid turns and the weather looks like 🌧️.

The first thing we always see when we get home. This little escape artist isn’t happy about the dropping temperatures so maybe she’ll stop running outside on us every single time we open the door. 🤞🏻

Also, please stay tuned for Gracie’s first Halloween costume 🎃 .

So this actually happened. What an out of body experience it was to watch my house roll down the road after all that hard work. 09/02/2022

A year ago, I watched my house fly down the road to its new home. It was a day that was both nerve-racking and exciting. I'm surprised that, excluding some damage to one section of the gutter, the house was otherwise undamaged. Every scenario of tires blowing, something flying off the house, drywall cracking, tile breaking, and so much more could have happened but I was blessed by the tiny house gods and got by unscathed.

We have been told that we have to move lots within the park we are currently at due to new renovations happening in our current area. This has been pending for about 6 months so we are patiently waiting for our notice. Our new lot is just done the road so, with fingers crossed, the tiny house gods will let us get through the next move just as gracefully.

Good morning from the tiny!

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted but we are still here and keeping busy this summer.

We are preparing for a looming move within the park (our current lot will soon be home to a double wide home). We have not heard much about where or when from the park yet, but last we heard it should be happening before the end of August. 🏡

Hi friends!
I didn’t realize how long it has been since my last update. As some of you may have noticed, our family grew with our new little fur baby Gracie this past October. We adopted Gracie at two months and she’ll be a whole six months next week. Adopting a kitten was a first for both Dan and me.
Gracie enjoys drinking fresh water from the tap (and the occasional stealth lick of Dans beer), taking a cozy nap on her window perch, and playing fetch with foam balls. She’s currently teething (who knew cats lost teeth?) and has murdered only about half of my plants.
Swipe to see her original adoption photo and her growing each month.
